I dealt with my passive-agressive in-laws on Christmas Eve, and I had to check my mom for almost spilling the beans on my condition on Christmas Day. But everyone lived, so it's all good! How about the rest of you?

I'm lucky - no dysfunctional branches on my family tree. Just a few saps here and and there. So all-in-all, a good day with way too much food and wine.

Friday was wonderful with 25 people here. Yesterday I didn't feel well so we didn't go to NEPA. I'm glad because we are getting a lot of snow now.

Ours was wonderful because we kept our family away (thank God for the internet!) and spent it all with friends! We went to a Christmas Eve party that was a blast and had friends over for Christmas dinner which was awesome!

mine was great, had a small gathering at my house(6 people) with enough food for about 30. lol.... the joke all day was that my Italian was showing. the 6 was immediate family, and one very close cousin that was intent on hiding from her own reality for a bit. we were all in pajamas, there were many pots of tea brewed, and it was a lovely day to just be. I'm relaxing today with a couple glasses of prosecco left over from yesterday, picking at the ridiculous amount of leftovers in my fridge (even after sending everyone home with a few meals!), watching football, and waiting for the blizzard to make its way up to MA. I hope everyone else's holiday was what you wanted it to be, and that 2011 is happy and healthy for all of you.

Friday was great -- festivities were cancelled due to illness, so I had Chinese, lots of wine and watched movies. Saturday I had to go to my mom's. Between my general blase about the holidays, and my dislike for spending time with my mom, it was painful. Today I went to my dad's for lunch -- it was nice, and the weather ensured that it was a short visit.

It's been peaceful. SIL's on Christmas Eve with family and friends we wanted to spend time with. Christmas morning with just us, really laid back. A couple of friends over yesterday late afternoon and then DD went off with a couple of girlfriends for a snowstorm/sleepover party. She did stop by for boots etc. today. I don't expect we'll see her again much before Tuesday. DS is cheerfully killing things on XBOX. Now if it would just stop snowing...

It was good. Looks like we will be spending another day with the in-laws due to snow.
Oh and a friend staying with my aunt and uncle did let the fact of me being pregnant slip with my grandmother. She was doing it in my defense however, I was taking a second butter tart and my grandmother was calling me a pig and she just replied but she is eating for two.
Oh and butter tarts are yummy. We had some friends down from Canada and they make butter tarts as a tradition, it is one we are keeping.

After all the drama of derailing plans, our holiday ended up really nice. We went to my Dad's Friday night. Everyone drinks, so that's always relaxing and enjoyable. We had breakfast on Christmas with BF's Dad and girlfriend, then drove to my sister's for dinner. We decided to come last night instead of sleeping over (sister lives two hours away) because of the snow threat. We had brunch at BF's mom and left when the snow started falling around 2. We got home from the bar a little bit ago, so I say successful weekend!

We got together on Christmas Eve. Three hour drive there & 3 hour drive back & spend 4 hours there. Rain both ways. Idiots driving 90 mph on the freeway when you couldn't see 40 feet. I'm actually surprised that I had a pretty good time. Only once did I have to duck. The moral majority started in (a cousin & an aunt). Thank goodness they didn't ask any opinion from me except a political one (without religion mixed in). I couldn't understand how they could sit at a table & eat a big meal with a board stuck up their butt. Even then it was good seeing them again. We never get together except funerals & nobody has died for 20 plus years.

It was okay. G'kids haven't fought for two whole days because they're too busy with their new stuff. If the novelty wears off tomorrow and they start fighting again, I'll be working so won't hear it.
I'm grateful that it's over for another year. No more commercials implying that if we don't spend, we don't love our families. Or at least no more of those commercials for the next 10 months. Yay.

I hear you on the commercials, Miss Rigby. I'd rather spend quality time with my family then get them a bunch of crap they don't need.

Pretty good holiday here! Seriously, we were thinking of skipping the usual hassel and going out for Chinese. Some Christmas, we ARE going to do it. We have been joking bout that for a few years.

We had a really good Christmas, but super busy. We pretty much ran from party to party from the 23rd through last night. But we like our familiies, so it was ok. Tomorrow is my last day at work, and then I get 5 days off before starting my new/old job. I have already declared Wednesday as "Jammie Day." DD and I aren't leaving the house and we're staying in our pjs all day long. I can't wait.

Mine went pretty good. Went to my parents on Friday and pretty much just vegged the rest of the weekend.

It was great! I didn't leave the house from Friday - Sunday! The best surprise of all? My DD21 (the one with the loser bf I posted about a few weeks ago) decided to come over Christmas morning at 7 so she could be there when her little sister got up. She wasn't expected until noon, so that made DD7's day, you should have seen her face! Maybe there's hope for her after all...

A very nice time. Went to a friend's house for the usual holiday dinner with a good and funny group. We all met up Sunday for Boxing Day at a local British pub. At least we can get out and exercise here; we need it with all this food.

Today the DIL (plus my oldest & his 2 kids) will be here. Should be interesting. We told a friend of some of DIL's past comments. She offered to come over & insult the heck out of her. That's my new way of dealing with her (rather than throw her across my knee like her father SHOULD have.

My weekend was much better than I expected. After wanting the holidays to be all over since before they started, I actually had a great holiday!
Picked up DH's new boat on Friday. Rained on us all the way home, but you couldn't remove the smile from his face. Found out his pick-up doesn't like to tow the huge, new boat on wet roads - once we got going, we were fine, but if we got stopped, the tires would spin like crazy until some momentum was achieved. Next on the list of upgrades for DH is a posi-track (or whatever the heck it's called) for the truck. Picked DH's kids up from their mom's house and not one complaint from them about anything. Opened up their token Christmas Eve gift and wonder of wonders, their pajamas actually fit (every year, we get at least one kid the wrong size)! We also let them open up the family gift - a Wii and they loved it! They haven't stopped playing with it since it's been opened.
Spent Christmas morning opening up presents with the kids - not one complaint from any of them about what they got (3 out of the 4 are my step-kids and while they are good kids, having multiple families giving kids presents tends to make them spoiled). Went to my cousin's house for the big family get-together for lunch. 43 people crammed into a smallish house made for some interesting arrangements. My family can make a joke about anything and I can't remember when the last time was that I laughed so hard about everything. We played a game I had never heard of before called, "What's Your's Like?" The double meanings that everyone took with the clues was perfect for our family.
Spent yesterday at my parent's house opening up gifts from them and showing them how to play the Wii. They had a blast with it too! Mom's now talking about getting one for their house as well. DH had to take his new boat to their house to show off (45 miles away from our house - but only 7 miles away from their house to a lake). He's now sick from driving around on the lake without the right clothing in 38 degree weather.
Went home and within 2 miles of our driveway, a lady rolled into the new boat while we were stopped at a red-light. We don't think there's any damage except possibly to the prop, but DH's going to have it checked anyway. I'm so proud of DH not going ballistic on the poor lady (the new boat is definitely his new baby).
All in all - I'm glad it's over!! ;D

Went great! DD did very well considering how many people she had to endure on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. DH was sick the entire time so he's glad it is all over.
She was even pretty good about going to bed on Christmas day and Christmas Eve. She was cranky yesterday but not near as bad as she was the day after Thanksgiving.

Very nice Christmas with TD.....we made an awesome prime rib dinner Christmas eve and went up to his Mom's for Christmas dinner. Both of us got the toys we wanted.
The only drawback about this whole holiday was my increasingly cranky hip, which most days are not so good - with a few good days thrown in just to keep me confused. I just have another 4 weeks until I get it fixed and this is one time where I'm really hoping that those weeks go very quickly.

Ugh! Me too. I'm scarfing down a huge lunch right now. Everyone else around here is complaining about how they can't even look at food and they ate so much over the weekend. I felt so crappy that I hardly ate for 4 days, and now today I'm finally feeling better, and I'm starving!
