VB, Why should we be funding fighting these terrorists in another country? This was not an attack on a public space in Paris filled with tourists. This was a planned attack on a magazine that had been targeted before because of their content.
So, international terrorism is not something we should fight or worry about. Got it.

I have decided to delete this thread at 3 pm central time, due to the move to Current Events board. Anyone that wants to, please start a thread here before I remove the thread, as obviously poster's thoughts are not valued on certain boards.

Beside having the thread moved back to 'Politics', what else do you want from the posters, Value Buy? What is it you are looking for?

So, America's lack of response to terrorism since Bush II is not a political issue. ... Well it depends. Is the issue that political hacks want to make the claim there has been no response? That is pure politics. A discussion of the attack in Paris is a Current Event.

I advise you or someone to start a thread on this forum as this one is disappearing around 3 pm central. Call it my political statement of "I can't breath".

Don't put words in my mouth. This organization was targeted because of their cartoons, had been targeted before in 2011 with a bombing. Why should I or anyone believe this attack implies anything except the desire to attack this magazine again if they continue to do their type of cartoons mocking the prophet?
No I don't want to spend US taxpayer dollars protecting a French company who persists in poking the bear.

So if it was an alleged Islamic attack on a fashion magazine with the same cartoons it would not be political?

Again, stop putting words in my mouth.
I don't want to spend US tax payer dollars on protecting foreign companies especially when protecting those companies will do nothing to make us more or less safe.
I don't think they deserved to be killed, but it is not a huge shocker given the recent cartoon.
Why do you think we should spend US taxpayer dollars on finding these people? What is the plus to America and Americans in general? Was an American killed in this attack?

And how is it about politics in D.C. ALSO? OBAMAWell of course it is. A little known secret-Why do you think Obama had Bin Laden killed? Because Bin Laden was about to spill the beans how he and Obama trained together in North Korea and jointly plotted the World Trade Center bombing and then in 2004, the Indian Ocean tsunami.

We can't leave it up to the French. They'll fuck it up somehow. Probably invade a country that had nothing to do with the attack, get stuck in a decade long war, leave the country with a power vacuum, and create more terrorists that are even more violent than the original group that attacked them. They should let somebody with a better track record on these situations handle it.
Boom! *drops mic, walks off stage*

VB, what do you know about this weekly newspaper besides it mocks Islam with cartoons?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Hebdo
Charlie Hebdo (French pronunciation: [ʃaʁli ɛbdo]; French for Charlie Weekly) is a French satirical weekly newspaper, featuring cartoons, reports, polemics, and jokes. Irreverent and stridently non-conformist in tone, the publication is strongly antireligious[2] and left-wing, publishing articles on the extreme right, Catholicism, Islam, Judaism, politics, culture, etc. According to its former editor, Charb (Stephane Charbonnier), the magazine's editorial viewpoint reflects "all components of left wing pluralism, and even abstainers

Truth of the matter is that we, as the "civilized" ones(read mostly Christians!) want to make fun and nit pick on anybody else that is not like us. We don't even take into consideration what other cultures value most, be it religion or traditional values. If it doesn't resamble our way of living we need to address that and change it. Why? Why not let them be? Rushing after vast reserves of oil gave us a few conflicts in the last half century but we weren't hapy with just taking the oil, we had to take it at a price that was convenient to us. Forget about what they want for what they have, we will take it and that's that. To make matters worse, we then involved ourselves in their lives: you have to stop women wear a hijab, you have to allow all to drive and so on. All good but we changed so their way of living. And to top it off, let's pick on their religion: Allah is gay! Your religion is wrong because you don't believe in Jesus Christ the Savior. And from there on we never stopped one day to think that what we do is wrong and offensive. Who's evolved now?

So, America's lack of response to terrorism since Bush II is not a political issue. The President has been very understanding over attacks against the Governement. Think Libya It was all about a movie...... Time to take the gloves off, and turn the CIA loose. First of all, this only just happened. All signs point to this being a terrorist attack, but we have to let the French government determine for sure WHICH group it was. This magazine has also offended (and been sued by) other groups, including Jews. Could be some home grown nut job group simplying trying to frame the Muslims, too - the French have to be sure who did it before they start planning an offense. Secondly, we are not the policemen of the world. Certainly we work closely with our allies, and I think we can all be 100% certain that American, British, German and French intelligence are churning through data, looking under every rock to trace the origin of this attack. However, ultimately, it's up to the French to determine what form their response will be, who they will target, and which of their allies they will invite to the party. Right now, the only appropriate response is to extend our sympathy to the French government and offer them any support they need in tracking the criminals - which is what we're doing. Loading up the fighter jets to indiscriminately bomb Muslim countries is not the right answer.

Great life for women. You must have 4 men observe your rape to claim rape. You cant leave your home unless accompanied by a male relative. If you " dishonor" in your manner of speech or dress you might die. But let's ignore the real war on women being waged and pretend .

Oh Valuebuy-I guess you have not been following my thread about the new Republican Whip on the Politics board. I will change the subject back to whatever your intended here when you get everyone on that thread back to the subject I started. This is the first time I have even mentioned the subject crawl on that thread. Threads take on a life of their own. Live with it. Buy the way-Shooby deviated away from the subject, not I. The subject was Paris-not gays.
