Who do you/we exactly respond to that we are not already responding to? Of course you do not want to hear it. Turn the CIA loose.
Time to make some people "disappear". An eye for an eye.

By the way-horrible attack. I hope France finds the killers. This magazine company, has been under heavy police guard. Evidently they waited until part of the police guard was done for the day, and a lessor presence was on duty. Shooting an officer lying on the street with his hands up. Takes a really special person to do it.

We have one or two members here that live in Paris and Europe. Really would like to see some response from them to give us the European report on this rather than MSNBC and CNN

Otherwise, it is just a silly, biased post. I also listened to the C-Span interview, and I heard no appeasement. Secretary Kerry on Paris Terror Attack

Anybody can shout "Allahu Akbar"! Is not like other people can't say it! What they've done is horrible and there is no excuse for. Ofcourse if cartoonists would refrain from doing religious subjects maybe shit like this wouldn't happen. Aparently they like living on the edge and don't realy care about consequences. Can't explain it in any other way since this is not the first time it happened. Now, no matter their reason, these people should be hunted down and terminated on the spot. Like VB said: eye for an eye! If they are truly Muslims then that fits with the teachings of the Quran. All of North African countries are former French colonies and French is in most cases the second official language. No surprise that they spoke fluent French.

If they stopped wearing short skirts and showing their cleavage it would never happen.

Is the magazine similar to Mad Magazine here in the states? Does not matter if they are satirical in nature. This was a slaughter.

Archie, I'm confused! No, wait, I believe that you are confused! i was referring to the fact that through their cartoons, they offended about a billion people in regards to their faith. Has nothing to do with the way the publisher is dressing. As in is someone just mentions to a devout catholic that Virgin Mary is an abnormality because you cannot become pregnant unless you have sex therefore Mary was not a virgin anymore! Imagine that! The very foundation of christianism being on the debate block!

I only started this thread for two reasons.
One. It has been hours and no one started a thread on an international problem-religious terrorism, and no one here thought it was even relevant to anyone.
Two. to prove the Politics board is dead. There are more people talking about a Lawyer in bankruptcy with millions involved, or someone with $86 in income rather than something of importance to the world.

It is horrible. You won't get much discussion other than that. There are no pros and cons to the murders.

Small groups of people have attacked those who upset them since the beginning of time.

And how does this relate to Politics and not Current Events? Is it Politics because John Kerry gave a statement about the shootings?

This is very sad, but I wonder if this is what made them decide to attack again.
From the OP URL: Another cartoon, released in this week's issue and entitled "Still No Attacks in France," had a caricature of a jihadi fighter saying "Just wait — we have until the end of January to present our New Year's wishes." Charb was the artist.

So, America's lack of response to terrorism since Bush II is not a political issue. The President has been very understanding over attacks against the Governement. Think Libya It was all about a movie...... Time to take the gloves off, and turn the CIA loose.

So we have been moved to Current Events. Why not just bury it in the Religious tab?
There are politics involved here, whether you want to acknowledge it or not.

VB, Why should we be funding fighting these terrorists in another country? This was not an attack on a public space in Paris filled with tourists. This was a planned attack on a magazine that had been targeted before because of their content.
