The last appointment with pain guy he kicked me to a neurologist but that was for the headaches. Which turned out to be caused by a migration of TMJ up to the temporalis muscles. The sides of my forehead have been absolutely throbbing for 8 weeks now. Pain guy sent that report to primary care who decided she wanted to see me. I had decided I wanted a rehab place with less of a surgery focus. I asked her for a referral. I don't need one but the insurance list of providers in that category is daunting. She decided I had fibromyalgia and ordered autoimmune bloodwork. One of those came back barely borderline so now I have to go to rheumatology. She referred it to rheumatology at Hopkins and they called and said they didn't have the capacity to treat me and find me own rheumatologist. Reason #575 why I hate Hopkins. I have no idea how they are consistently #1 because in my experience they suck donkey balls. Chiropractor never did a thing in 20 sessions to budge my pain levels. He did pop the dislocated rib back in. Which was a whole other level of pain after that. It sucks because there is no clear cut path for fixing it. My muscles have spasmed so much my spinal cord is way out of normal alignment. Oh wow! Hopefully, you see improvement soon.

All the typical ones. Lose weight, get my strength back. Actually make and stick to a budget. We haven't gone into debt, but outside of retirement our savings is abysmal and we've been living windfall to windfall. Only we don't have a lot of upcoming windfalls anymore to get us back on track so we have to do it the hard way. I told dh I want he and I to touch more. Not just sex, but the little things that we just stopped doing. I'd like to stop biting my nails, but without getting regular manicures which conflicts with #2 I'm not sure how to do that. As a life time nail biter who quit cold turkey about a year ago... Figure out why you bite them and have a remedy for that. If it's because of length, carry a nail clipper. Raggedy edges, carry a nail file. You can also do your own nails if that would help. I miss biting them but I was developing a bad jaw because of it.

I want to start running as well. I am ready mentally, but not so much physically - I have trouble finding time for this. You can do it! Just start slow and work your way from walking to jogging/running. A lot of people swear by Couch to 5k. Jeff Galloway and Hal Higdon offer (free!) weekly training plans on their websites. My first attempt at starting a run program ended in a first day argument with hubs. Lol. I now feel like I'm missing something if I don't run! I'm on Map My Run if anyone wants to be friends. I used the Jeff Galloway program to train for a half marathon last year. I run anyway, but it had been awhile since I'd done a long event like that. His programs are very sensible. Hal Higdon is very good, too. I want to do more swim meets, including going out of town for them...maybe to GA, NC, SC. If I can fit one in during vacation later this year, I just might do that, too.

I have to figure out what I'm doing with my career. Lots of questions, I expect some answers to present themselves. I quoted myself on purpose. Anyway, tomorrow I'm going to sit down with my current supervisor for a half hour, to see, realistically, what my future is going to look like in this department. It is his input/opinion that I trust the most. I also want to start engaging in future discussions about my future supervisor during this meeting, because things will get worse for me when I move to a new reporting relationship. I'm also starting a continuing ed class next week in a completely different discipline. So, I have three choices: 1) Advanced education in my current field to fill in my current gaps 2) Go to school for something completely different 3) Do a Dark and buy a business and run it (Actually, #3 is on there for fun. I don't think there's any way I'd buy the business that's for sale and run it. Have a whole bunch of ideas, though. And they are very good. And a bunch of current employees would likely need to be fired. I'm not all good at that.) My goal is to have an idea of where I'm going in the next month.

So far this year I am failing at my goal. I was going to join a gym Jan 1 or so but still haven't. I did get a membership card in the mail so don't need to actually join. I tried on a swimsuit today but it was so old I could hear the fabric fail so threw it in the garbage. I have one in my car truck for a year or two so need to bring it in and try it on. I can't find any for sale here and don't want to order on Amazon but might. So exercise is not starting. Diet is doing pretty good, not losing much but a little and starting to feel like I am shrinking, less bloat, eating way more beans and veggies. I ran out of eggs but shouldn't eat them so didn't buy any. Eating Cheerios and oatmeal with almond breeze and veggies with a little fruit and beans and this week some baked chicken but no salt and no sugar. Tried tomatillo for the first time today, trying new veggies if I figure out what to do with them. I boiled with jalapenos and some baked chicken for flavor it made shredded chicken but tasted good.

My goals for this year are seemingly unattainable but I am sure going to give it a sincere try.
First and foremost, I want to move out of the North and move South. I am just struggling to find a place in Florida that is reasonably safe and has a reasonable amount of jobs and places to live. Maine to Florida is a major move and commitment but I just hate the North now and the cold and snow.
Figure out what to do with my life...I have been a government employee for 10 years and worked office jobs for several years before that and now I am trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. I am not adverse to going back to school but it is just making the decision and sticking with it. My kids are old enough now that I could do it and be successful I think. This brings me back to jobs in demand in the south to make a living.
Lastly, get healthier. Eat healthier. Exercise. Walk every day. This is proving to be a challenge.

I just found this thread and read through it. I'm curious, how is everyone doing with their goals?
I didn't post earlier this year but my goals financially were to pay off one student loan and one cc. Student loan is paid. Still working on the cc.

I think I had 3 goals: - move back home - get pregnant - save for trip to Saudi Arabia
Still working on the first two and the third has been postponed to next year : her cousins, aunts and uncles also want to go so giving everyone more time to save/prepare and go together. A stop to Dubai was also added...
