If we get the foot of snow here in NY I want to skip going in to work. I have lots of days saved up, I just feel guilty because there are plenty of things I need to do that are waiting for me at the office to finish up. What would you do?

Got to remember you're asking a bunch of slackers here... If you want the responsible answer you should ask over in...in...drawing a blank here.... Yep--just stay home

Well, IMHO, you're wayyy behind on your post count. The responsible thing would be to deal with that before even thinking about work.

Tomorrow is a holiday in accordance with our union contract. I am not a union member but salaried, if they don't go why should I?

If it's gonna be all that bad, stay home and don't feel guilty. After all, you could be killed or seriously injured on the way. Or kill or seriously injure somebody else! Besides, even if you make it there safely, who's to say you'll be able to get home again? I vote for stay home. The worst we'll have down here is a little black ice leftover from yesterday's sNOw so I have to work for SL's mother and then for SL They aren't my favorite clients, and I hope they both get warts and ugly toenail fungus.

Miss R, hopefully you can them as clients soon. You don't need that kind of aggravation. Yep, I think I will stay home tomorrow. I don't like driving on icy roads.

I have a personal day to burn this week, or it's gone at the end of the year. I'm hoping that they close the office tomorrow so I can use the personal day another day and only end up working two days.

If it's really bad. What they will do more often is call it a "delay" and then follow it up with people in X departments are not required to show, so they can avoid paying overtime to the people who have to show no matter what.

I called the babysitter and already cancelled for tomorrow....oh wait...I told my boss when I left on Thursday that I probably wouldn't be in if it snowed. Thank goodness that I have an understanding boss....I do NOT drive in the snow.... We (the boys and I) are already planning on the yummy things I can bake and cook tomorrow!!!!

I'm off until January 4th so I think everyone should just call in tomorrow!
I also don't drive when the roads are bad so I wouldn't hesistate to call in tomorrow.
My firm has only closed two times in the 16 years I've been there. Once, the city was evacuated due to risk of flooding and the other there was a state of emergency declared and all motorists were told to stay home. Recently they've gotten smart and told all of us to take work home in order to remain billable. If not, you have to take a PTO day.

I will be staying home tomorrow. Just because DH gave me the gift of a cold for Christmas.

I will be staying home tomorrow. Just because DH gave me the gift of a cold for Christmas. And the problem is that if you get a lot of snow, people at work won't believe it's actually a cold.

When I lived farther away the rule was if they canceled school I would not be to work. Downside of moving closer.

I've often thought that, if I wanted to call out and use a sick day, I'd tell them that I hurt my back shoveling.

The bakery has officially been closed for tomorrow. Our baking staff starts at 3 am so they would be out during the height of the storm. A few customers will be pissed as they always are on those rare occasions that we close for the weather. <<shrug>> It's not worth dying over.

Just wanting to spend a little extra time with DD1 before she leaves next week for Boston. She will be spending the next week with friends.

I won't ever pretend to have any kind of personal injury--I'm blue collar so it could hurt comp claims if I ever get hurt at work--they could say something already existed. I'll just stick to faking being sick *cough* *cough*

I work out of my home so unless we lose power I am on. DH has some work to do at home and the rest he is bagging. He can't do anything in the snow anyway so why risk you life going out in this weather?

So there should be a whole lot of posts to read tomorrow if no one is going in to work. It is bad out there now. I dread going out there to shovel. I keep telling myself every year to buy the stupid snow blower but I keep putting it off.

it's been snowing since 1PM today non-stop when I first noticed (in New Jersey). So I sent an email I'm taking a vacation day for Monday just in case someone wanted me to work from home. LOL plus I bank work...meaning the work I "secretly" finished Friday I sent in today as if I worked today.
