Aren't kids funny, debthaven? I was simply floored when I realized DD never learned how to use a Yellow Pages phone book. But then, with technology, her generation never relied on them like we used to.
Drat! I just found out my agent is out of town for a couple of weeks. (Could be a lot of reasons. Her parents are both still living, & older than mine would be if they were still with us.) But, she's not taking messages, so I'll talk with one of her coworkers, if the coworker returns my message.

How is it only Tuesday! Although, I need to catch up on grading, so I suppose it's good it's only Tuesday.
It's 7:30 here, and DD#2 and I just got home from dance. We're having leftovers for dinner.
Tonight I only have five goals: Grade papers for an hour Organize DD's fundraiser paperwork Rotate laundry Straighten up the house Complete my evening routine by 10:00pm!!!

DH and I have parent teacher conferences tonight. So I'm dumping the kids and pizza off at MIL's around 445. DH and I are going out for dinner after the conferences (they're like 15 minutes each)
Need to get laundry going. We're leaving Friday am for a weekend up North and I want to have clothes for me and the kids mostly figured out/packed Thursday night.

@tbird, I hope you feel better soon. I have those nights too, at least a couple last week due to a nasty cold.
Wisconsin Beth, Yay for a date night and for a long weekend!
I managed to accomplish everything last night. Today is a volleyball game, so I won't be home until probably 8pm this evening. No goals for me!

Aww sorry Rukh. There are days like that ... This week - mark 19 Grammar tests (Wed)- send 2 D emails (by Fri) - send 3 MP emails (by Fri) - send 2 FB emails (by Fri) Next week is midterm week. I'll have 60 exams to mark, but I'll be on a reduced schedule ... only 2 half days of teaching, and no early starts! And DH will do the school carpool so I don't have to get up at 6.

Fri- 3 MP emails- 2 MSc emails- 2 D emails - 2 FB emails I picked up DS3 after school, started a load of laundry, and started dinner. I am doing nothing but send these work emails tomorrow! (Especially since I'm getting up at dawn o'clock to go to the main campus on Sat.)

My celebration will be next week. Tonight is the memorial service for DH's grandma. Thanks for starting the celebration off for me Debt! This is what we're doing next week: ntlive.nationaltheatre.org.uk/ Going to the local movie theater to see actual theater.

Oh, Chocolate, I'm sorry about your DH's grandma ... I'm sorry, I must have missed that. That should be wonderful! We've gone to the NT quite a few times and it's always an incredible experience, they really are absolutely top-notch! I did something REALLY dumb today. I got an email with 3 more translations while I was at school. I couldn't open them on my phone so I sent them to DH so he could see how long they were ... Then I realised there was a PS saying "I'll send the 4th one very soon". I emailed, OMG, there's a fourth one! Of course I thought I was emailing DH, but I emailed the man instead. He wrote back, is that OK? Can you do them? I called him immediately. He was charming, and burst out laughing when I told him the email had been for my DH. (We had never spoken on the phone before.) I told him that I had been meaning to tell him that DH and I are a "translating team", and I have midterms to mark next week, so would he mind if DH did them? He said absolutely not, I showed the first two you did to some English friends and they said they were "superb". (I did the first one and DH did the second one). So it looks like this is going to be a regular "second job". DH will do this bunch (they're all short) and I'll do the ones that come in after my midterms are done. But I'm relieved the man knows I'm not the only one doing them, and that he's OK with it.

I'm not sure I mentioned it, Debt, but thank you. She passed away a couple of weeks ago but one of her children (who has always been a problem child) was causing issues. So it's taken a while to get this together. I couldn't mention it without ranting, so I didn't. I went and saw the encore of Frankenstein last year, both versions. It was amazing. I'm sure this will be too. I'm so glad your translation person is OK with you having an assistant!

I. Must. See This.
It's going to be shown at the Seattle International Film Festival; looking for tickets now! I agree Frankenstein was amazing. (I only saw the Cumberbatch-as-Dr. Frankenstein version.)
EDIT: Just realized I was posting in the de-clutter thread, so my progress is....I've been a complete slacker.

I just got home. -faint-Mom's house is 99% empty. But, at least all of that stuff fit into the area of the garage that I'd planned to put it in. Now, every Saturday morning until it gets ugly-cold, DH & I will be going through that stuff here, rather than making the long drive.
CL, so sorry to hear about your DH's grandma. It seems like there are a lot of losses lately.

Wow Busy! That is an AMAZING accomplishment! I am glad that you won't have to make that long drive so often (even if your garage is a mess lol).
Look on the bright side ... you can go through your garage in pjs!!!

I finished my emails, went to the post office to pick up a package, shopped and prepped tomorrow night's dinner (we have company and I'll be out all day).
DD and I took Bunny to the vet's this morning and he's still there. He hurt his cheek (inside his mouth) and he's not eating. I will know in a little while whether I can pick him up or whether he has to stay the night. :-(

You really should see Cumberbatch-as-Creature then. I liked that one more. Miller was a more angry/aggressive/can't think of the word I want Victor. I just liked both of them more in those roles. The other wasn't bad, I just liked this one more. I have a pile close to the front door to carry off, does that count as progress? I won't mention the length of time it's been there.....

My new closet doors are installed and painted. These are in my bedroom and in the bedroom that I use as an office/sewing room. Since I had to empty the closets out so the guy could do the work I took the opportunity to get rid of some stuff. I didn't get rid of as much stuff out the sewing room as I probably should have but you never know when you might need that scrap of fabric etc. When going through my clothes I did better. There was an armload of stuff that went into the garbage and a sack that was donated.
I also ran some florescent tubes down to my Dad's dumpster to dispose of them and an old metal track (from previous bi-fold closet doors) went into Dad's scrap metal bin.

I spent 6 hours going to the main campus and back today. Thank goodness we only have to do that a few times a year. DH finished the grocery shopping for tonight's company. I emptied the dishwasher, cleaned the kitchen and tidied the LR/DR. Bunny is still at the vet because he still won't eat, so she has to force feed him. She'll take him home again. Seeing the empty cage is sad and upsetting. She said if he's better tonight I can pick him up tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I hope he's going to be OK. Our friends are coming over in 30 m and I just can't wait to have a glass of wine. ETA: We had a nice evening. DH decided to cook something else (mussels with cream and cider) so I have the soup for tomorrow. Everything is put away. DH gets irritated that I clear up as we go. I told him it's nothing new, so you can either live with it, or we can stop having people over. I can't just pile everything up and have a kitchen that looks like a bomb went off. Who wants to wake up to that, or spent 2 hours clearing up dishes after the guests leave?! We already entertain much less than we used to (as do all our friends ... I guess we're all getting old and lazy lol.) I also folded DS3's laundry (he fell asleep) and did a load. I'm taking it easy tomorrow before coming home with 59 midterms on Monday. I'm worried about Bunny. ETA2: Next week- call plumber (who was supposed to come 2 weeks ago) - call gardener (ditto) - call roofer (who was supposed to come in May) - go to bank - mark 59 midterms

O h, debthaven, I hope Bunny is better tomorrow.
We had a volleyball tournament that was 5pm - 9:30pm Friday and 8:00am - 6:00pm Saturday.
I'm so tired of whiny 8th graders who just want to win without working hard and just want to whine when they don't get to play the whole time. Because, shockingly, nine girls can't play in six spots the whole time!!! Okay, I'm done with whining. Wednesday is the last match!!! I'm tired. I did rotate laundry, but I haven't folded it. It's only 8:00pm, but I think I'm just going to straighten up the house and go to bed.
Tomorrow, I'm going to
clean the toilets clean out my work bag clean out my purse figure out a deep cleaning zone schedule for October (because it's the 10th already, and we haven't really done any!) figure out a line-up for Monday's volleyball game.
sort out the pile papers that has accumulated
dinner menus for this week
45 min of cardio 30 min of yard work 45 min of deep cleaning
pay the girls girls pay their bills
sweep the house swiffer mop the kitchen 60 min of classroom work

Debtheaven, I hope that Bunny is getting better! Good that your DD is not in Asia when he is sick...
BTW, did she get steady employment? And how is her biking - I suppose that the season for gloves and raingear has come to you too...
Knowing that your household is religiously mixed, in case you do some kind of seasonal gifts, would one of those sheepskin (real or imitated) things to put over the saddle be a nice one? (I love mine, even if it takes a few seconds extra to put it on/take it off and hang it to dry indoors.)
