No bites here sorry. One of my extended family was a Chicago cop.
The police have a right to defend themselves. I support that 100% up to and including the use of violent force. Sorry, you don't want to get injured? Then don't get into a physical altercation or point a gun at a cop. It's really not that hard to figure out.
I find it laughable that people expect those in the position of responding to violent crimes on a daily basis to be pacifist in nature. Doesn't work that way.
No way in hell should an officer put their safety at risk because some armchair analyst want's to second guess what's happening in reality.

One of the more amusing statistics I heard was that once the cops started wearing the body cameras complaints against the cops dropped by nearly 80%. I don't believe that the cops changed their behavior that much but I do believe that the public started behaving a lot better when they knew they were on camera!
