Don't forget the British Home Office in London relieved all of the English and Scottish officers involved in the Christmas truce including the Anglican Chaplain who conducted religious services for the British and Germans...All of the German officers and staff NC Os were pulled off the front lines in France and shipped to the Eastern Front to battle the Russian..... and there were no more Christmas truces in WW1... and there were some attempts in WW2 with the Germans and Americans but that was not too successful.

I didn't know they were pulled from the Western Front. TBH I don't know a whole lot about WW1 compared to other wars.

Thanks for posting that...if only the "little" people could control issues that lead to military conflict in the world I'm sure there wouldn't be much of it. I've always maintained that, regardless of where someone is from or what religion they are, we all want the same things - family, friends, food and a roof over our head.

This took place in 1914..while there had been plenty of casualties, think the Brits lost 70,000 people in one day already, found out what placed Machine guns , attacked in line could do, both sides were still full of p and Vineger..the trench warfare hadn't been pefected yet, the poison gas hadn't been used yet..as bad as it was, their still was a bit of romance to it all...the hours of shelling on end just beginning..the horrors to come..still to come..
