That's a pretty broad swath of the population- ages 16 to 74. We know Europeans are having fewer children (negative native population growth plagues Europe), and that the population is older- meaning more people in that group are closer to 74 than 16. I'd be interested in how Europe compares age group to age group-- in other words, ages 16 to 24 in Europe vs. the US-- I bet it's roughly the same.
