FBI opens inquiry regarding black teen's hanging suicide

"There are too many questions and contradictions ... about the facts, quick conclusions and how the death scene was not protected to leave this case unprobed and unevaluated," Dr. William J. Barber II, the NAACP chapter president, said in statement Friday.

Lennon Lacy, 17, a 207-pound high school football player, was found suspended from the swing set in a trailer park Aug. 29. A state medical examiner and a county coroner ruled his death a suicide.

I still can't get over the boy who was found dead and rolled and stuffed inside a gym mat and they just immediately ruled that as an accidental death. That was too bizarre for words.

Seems like there is only good to come from further investigation.   They might solve a murder. They might improve the procedures the police department follows in the future. Or they might add confidence that the police department did do a good investigation.
