OK - I've already search the recipes board and didn't see anything
I am looking for the most AWESOME pancake recipe. Buttermilk, sour cream, cream cheese, it doesn't matter.
I want something that I can waft under DD's nose at 8 am Sunday that will make the tween jump out of bed.
Help me out peeps!

You might want to tag NancysSummerSip, our resident cook! Oh wait, I just did so maybe she will pop in. As for me, pancakes are the one thing that in all my years on earth I have never mastered - well that and a bunch of other things requiring cooking. We have a BBQ place that serves a killer breakfast and when pancake demon raises it's head I go there!!

I just make a basic recipe. And dress it up with toppings.

Any old buttermilk pancake recipe will work. It's the syrup and toppings that makes a difference. I gave up pancakes when I couldn't find a decent maple syrup.

I use the recipe in the hand-me-down Pillsbury Cookbook that DH got from his mom or grandma, and usually add cinnamon. We like it, but I don't know if it's amazing enough for what you're looking for. :-p I'm happy to share the recipe if you'd like, though.

I just got some blueberry syrup and served with whip cream for dd's sleepover. The girls loved it.

There is definitely a difference in recipes. A basic recipe is great and it gets better from there.
Unfortunately, which one is absolutely the bestest ever - that is personal. You will have to try several until you find the one.
If you like the whole "greek yogurt" thing, you can find a recipe that uses that as an ingredient. It makes it tangy and gives it a very spongy texture. But, also important, it has some protein in it which is good.

I make crêpes. They're nice & soft/moist, and you can even eat them rolled up with fruit inside,or served as a dessert..
.
Only ingredients needed are flour, milk, eggs and a tsp or two of oil in the batter depending how much batter you're making..

Bacon pieces in the pancake are awesome. The trick with pancakes isn't so much the recipe as how you make them. When stirring stop before it is smooth lumps are good. Place batter on hot pan, you know the pan is the right heat when a single drop of water skitters across it. After pouring the batter wait for bubbles and when the one near the center pops and doesn't refill turn them, the second side doesn't take long because the first side is well done. Thin batter will make thin pancakes so if you want fluffy use a little thicker batter. Even fluffier try beating egg whites then folding in at the last minute like you would waffles.
