I know I shouldn't be laughing when the thread is about someone firing off round after round after round indiscriminately... but THAT was funny!

Don't feel bad, my first thought was "are the other buildings going to riot and burn each other down" I will go now and read the story.

Meh, it's Austin. The liberal bastion of the Lone Star State. There are even a few people there who don't even eat beef! when i travel there, i make it a point to eat at Mr. Natural on Ceasar Chavez.

Wow- missed this- the lamestream media strikes again
www.washingtonpost.com/national/religion/police-say-austin-shooter-harbored-extremist-views/2014/12/01/7c1a68a2-79c2-11e4-8241-8cc0a3670239_story.html
However, inside his van investigators found a copy of “Vigilantes of Christendom,” a 1990 book associated with the Christian Identity movement known as the Phineas Priesthood. The shadowy sect holds religious beliefs against banking, abortion and a strong central government and espouses anti-Semitic and racist views. The book describes the Phineas Priesthood as Christian guerrillas who avenge Judeo-Christian traitors. Inside the book was a handwritten note that referred to McQuilliams as a “priest in the fight against anti-God people,” Acevedo said.
Found this hilarious:
McQuilliams had served about seven years in federal prison for bank robbery and was released in 2000. As a convicted felon, he could not legally possess the firearms he used in his attack. Acevedo said investigators are still trying to determine how he got them
Gee I wonder.........Gun show maybe?

However, if was a Muslim we would still be hearing about it. Says a lot about the way the media really leans.

The FOX story:
Down went Larry McQuilliams, and so ended his rampage through the streets of the Texas capital, where he’d fired more than 100 rounds from his AK-47 and .22-caliber rifles at buildings. The shot, from Johnson’s Smith & Wesson M&P .40 pistol, hit McQuilliams square in the chest and made the 15-year-veteran the toast of gun enthusiasts around the country.
McQuilliams, 49, had multiple weapons, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and a map of 34 downtown buildings that likely were potential targets in his pre-dawn rampage the day after Thanksgiving, according to Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo. He’d already shot up the Mexican consulate, the federal courthouse and a downtown bank.
The sharpshooter told a local radio host he thanked God for being at the "right place at the right time."

Yesterday. Not one mention that he was a right wing extremist, nutball, 'Christian Soldier'. Wonder why that is...... The police chief called the man a right wing extremist- guess Fox missed that quote.

Hero God fearing conservative thanks the Lord they were in the right place at the right time- aka freaking chance.
IF there is a God sure as shit such a creator has zero interest in who wins football games, who is where and when, who lives and dies, etc. Have to admit I am about sick of these delusional idiots that think they have a line on God or what God wants.
Maybe we need a new voter literacy test to purge idiots.

Maybe we need a new voter literacy test to purge idiots. Yet you seem to know? How is it that you know what God wants or doesn't want, yet the other guy is an idiot for thinking he does? You attest that God (if there is one) doesn't care about "football games, who is where and when, who lives an dies, etc". Yet the man stating that he thanks the Lord he was in the right place is an idiot? So YOU know what God does and doesn't care about, but nobody else can say they do or they are an idiot. Got it.

Was he yelling "Christ is King" or indicating in some way that he was doing what he was doing in the name of Christ or are we just looking at reading material that was found in his truck and connecting dots?

Crap. I have to clean out my car. Currently, there is a crock pot recipe book in there. If something happens and somebody finds it, they'll think I'm actually going to use it!

I said if there was.
And yes- anyone that claims to know what God wants or thanks God for something is a delusional idiot in my book. The same people when confronted with things like Sandy Hook or children being born with horrible diseases spout off 'well the Lord works in strange and mysterious ways......' Just my opinion. You either have free will or you don't- so either 'God' is either a spectator only or you are just a mindless automaton running a program that 'God' set in motion- hence no matter what you do nothing is your fault.
Wasn't my point other than the cop that took out the terrorist decided to thank God for it and Fox went with that half of the story and ignored the more pertinent information- that he was a right wing kook.
