Sitting in my Grand daughter's apartment In KC last night watching all the local news outlets reporting pregame before game six. One station reported one special ticket was still available for $110,000, but the downside was you would be in a booth with strangers and would have to watch with strangers...... After the 2nd inning, I believe you had a lot of close friends. Question, who would pay that much to enjoy one game with strangers, no less? There was one interesting segment where a businessman actually was able to score 24 seats (together) and he was taking his associates to the game, on a bus, tailgating, then the game. Reporter was saying some companies go for a weekend exercise of associates in team building and some do something for employees that mean something
I would hate to guess what a nose bleed seat would cost for game seven. Have to admit, I would love to be there. The energy in this city for the Royals sure beats Chicago, for my White Sox. This city is in a frenzy. I even want to buy something in Royal blue. My great grandson, 11 months old is in royal blue, and grand daughter is not a big baseball fan

Kansas City is in fly over territory, so neither coast is interested. I even doubt if eastern Missouri (St Louis) is following, to much of a degree. I know Chicago market is more interested in NFL even if Chicago will not make the play offs. San Francisco doesn't quite hit the mark for east coasters either.
I wonder if they went with only a 3 game series if that might help ratings, but that would be sacriligous for baseball purists. I admit I watched Sunday night football rather than world series the other night, and have only watched a few innings of the games in Frisco. Last night, watched the whole game. Even though it was a blowout, it was a game of inches. If San Francisco first baseman did not commit two mental errors in 2nd inning, last night's game would have been a cliff hanger. Incorrectly playing a chopper to him, pissing off Peavey, and playing too far off the bag on a lefthanded hitter, allowing a double over the bag, which he would of fielded, if properly playing the batter, and the game would have changed emotionally.

I'm just grateful the Symphony Orchestra played the national anthem last night. AND they didn't forget the words.

this has actually been a really great series. both teams are loaded with offensive talent, and both teams have pitchers that can be "got to". this makes for very streaky and exciting viewing on the part of audiences.
bring on game 7.

Ratings, schmatings. I'm happy to see a non-big team in the World Series. I hope Raul gets a ring!

DS has the game on right now. Looks like it's going to be a dog fight to the end!

hard not to root for a team that hasn't won in 40 years. this is 3 WS wins in 5 years for the Giants, but keep this in mind:
of the final 10, the Giants were ranked 10th. every team that pulled their number wanted to play them in the playoffs, and they beat them all.
this is not the same team the swept the series a few years ago. they were way scrappy. and you really have to behold Bumgarner in amazement. he is one of the 10 best pitchers in WS history. i think he is around 0.5 ERA in his trips to the WS. amazeballs.

Great game. When KC executed the sacrifice bunt to move the runner from first to second, I said, the game was over. Manager decided to go for the tie, rather than a victory way too early in the game. Next two batters did nothing, inning over. Frisco has built a world series dynasty. Three titles in five years, is great in this day of free agency. Bumgarner is absolutely amazing. Stone cold performance, although KC players were going for high out of the strike zone 92 mph pitches all night. All three world series tournaments were outstanding performances for him. Three victories this year (I believe he had the victory last night) in seven games.

Bumgarner's game was not as crisp last night as the other two games, but it was still really good, especially in the later innings. his ERA places him THIRD among WS pitchers (0.43). but no, he didn't get the win, he got a SAVE. Affelt got the win. Bumgarner got MVP.

dj, I know in something like the 8th inning, announcers said the official scorer had said he would be credited with the win, and I wondered about that at the time, but took them at their word.

Harold Reynolds is only marginally better than Tim McCarver was as Buck's partner in the booth for Fox games. he still sucks though. none of the above are going to give you information worth the time it took to listen to it, and half the time it's wrong anyway. the other half of the time, they are trying to kiss Yankee rear. they all need to be fired. congrats to the Giants. I was pulling for KC - long drought and all, this Sox fan totally understands what KC would have been like today!

The lady that sang the National Anthem was great. On pitch and didn't forget the words.
She is an opera star.

She is an opera star. And she probably has a very good memory foy lyrics as she sings in Italian and other operatic languages.
