I woke up at 7:30 this morning. The dog has to be put outside immediately, but as soon as I had lifted her down to the floor, she scooted under the bed and wouldn't come out. I left her for awhile to see if she would come out on her own. I had to give her a milk-soaked cheerio to get her to come out, and then I grabbed her by the collar and took her to the door to put her out. All well and good. An hour later, DH wakes up. That's kind of late for him. He's very, very grumpy and says his back is killing him. I gave him a Motrin 600 from my supply from my surgery. He went back to bed. I sense a trend here.

It's a sign - go back to bed yourself.

Too bad you can't put the grumpy husband outside with the dog - lol!

He's been doing a lot of yard work along with the handyman at the two rentals, and I think he just screwed up his back. I never expected this, though. I'm gonna scrub out the pressure cooker, which has some burned stuff in it and has been soaking ( I actually burned a little of the stew I made in it even though I followed the time directions in the recipe - sigh ), and then I'm going to go for a walk. Seems like a constructive plan. I would go back to bed, but I"m slept out. I'm on limited lifting, etc. instructions due to my surgery on Friday, so I'm kind of bored.

DH is up and feeling better. I found out why the stew burned so badly. He had put the stew meat into a heavy marinade overnight before it was cooked, and the marinade carmelized and burned in the pressure cooker. I think we can still marinate stew meat ( this package needed it ! ) if we rinse it well before cooking it. He's going to deglaze the pot later. I used steel wool on it, and it still had a hard time cracking it off the bottom.

As much as I hate to admit it, your plan sounds much better - hope his back recovers swiftly and that you heal well from your surgery.

Stick a fabric softener sheet on the pan with enough water to cover the burned spot. Let it soak for at least an hour and try scrubbing again. ,

Who's dragging the him out the door ? Me or the dog ? The dog can drag him. I can coax him, but it takes more than a milk-soaked cheerio. He was very, very grumpy this a.m. He's okay now .
