Good morning fellow PBers!
I am hoping once again you will cheer me up with your stories so my current ones are funnier. So please share your stories about remodeling, and adventures in construction both home & road.
Yesterday, was at least day 2 of bang the living heck out of thad e apartment below me for its remodel. Roughly 4x4 foot chunks of tiled bathroom wall made it out to the maintenance cart... among other stuff. At work, construction continued and I had to go through two gates to the Rehab gym to try on my uniform. I missed most of the receptionist meeting @4pm doing the uniform thing, but that actually made it easier as things are still chaos from the move. I went to the clinic right after the meeting. On the way home I discovered road construction had decided to detour us on nice ok badly maintained roads with lots of bumps, etc. I was not real sure I was going to end up somewhere I recognized! Luckily I made it back to Hwy 287 and the pharmacy.
Pls share now. The drill is real loud.

While you are at it, find those frugal ways for me to get Mums(flowers). Remember I'm a food stamp recipient so buying flowers is probably a no-no for some of you.
I spent $3.33 on a small pot of chrysanthemums for one of my small terra cotta pots! I plan to spend again, knowing it would be slightly wiser not to. I have already decided it will go in another terra cotta pot(1 of 3 same design) that will be yellow double flowers.
Things have been so challenging and the weather turning cool so quickly, I do not think I'll wait for my occasional cheat of going to greenhouses when they are on discount or free(ready to be tossed and not in great shape). Honestly sounds like the worker is stomping on walls or something involving a hammer... good I don't get migraines.

iThe GC where I work has a flower dept. They actually have expiration dates on them so they must be sold by that date. As a result every Sunday they put out all the flowers with close dates on mgr specials for $1-$3 a bunch depending on what they are.
I have been bringing home a bunch or two most sundays since I have been there as $1 for flowers is a bargain to me.

Nice. Any idea if something like that might exist in Middlesex, Somerset, or Union counties?
I did once buy a couple very small violets on close out at ShopRite. I think I returned them for $$(< $2) because it was probably hell February(2014) and I figured my odds of keeping them alive until things calmed down and I could consult some books wasn't terribly high.
One thing I really miss is when Farmer Johns existed in Warren, NJ. you could go out with a pair of their scissors and cut whatever flowers you wanted. They. were quite reasonable. I think under stress I want good food and beauty, so flowers become one of the things I want to buy. Now I see mini-roses, Kalanchoe, and Mums. I want them all!
