Are we possibly waking up to the greatest threat the world faces today? And it ain't "climate change". I almost never agree with Bill Maher, but when it comes to Islam, he gets it. He understands Islam itself is different from other religions, that it poses a unique threat because while most Muslims are moderate and would not carry out all of the precepts of their religion as taught by their prophet in the q'ran, The whole planet is going to have to force the equivalent of the Reformation on Islam, or else. I'm glad even some lefties are starting to get it. Left and right have to unite against Islam as a geopolitical force just like we did against NAZIism and the Imperial Japanese. nation.foxnews.com/2014/09/12/bill-maher-absolutely-crushes-charlie-rose-comparing-islam-christianityBill Maher absolute REFUSES to let Charlie Rose go wobbly on Islam, or to compare it to Christianity.

Well... in fairness, the Bible tells how non Christians should be treated... and it's not exactly politely.
Homosexual? Stone them. (Leviticus 20:13) Non-believer? Enslave them. (Leviticus 25:44-46) Non-believer? Kill them. (Deuteronomy 13:6-10)
There are many other "bad things" in The Bible... but you get the gist of my point. Islam is not the only religion who's "holy book" teaches to mistreat others.

Not at all.

I'll remain opposed to militant terrorism associated with any religion, or no religion, thank you very much.

(but this line of thought should probably happen on the Religious sub-board... so I'll stop with that.) I actually like Bill Maher, but he can be wrong. In this instance he is.

He CAN be an ass. I agree... but most people know that about him and expect it.
I think he's an ass sometimes when I even agree with him... LOL

I've got family coming today, but I'll try to catch up the evening. Good to know I'm missed!

Theology is for another forum. This is facts on the ground. Muslims are killing people, Christians aren't. Period. I hate to have to come to the staunch defense of Bill Maher, but he's totally correct on this point.

ISIS is no more Islam than WBC is Christianity.
