Alright, I can see how this might be a annoyance for some.
I don't see how a purse holder would need to manufactured into the car itself though. Couldn't you come up with a more "low tech" solution? Maybe engineer a pouch that hangs off the passenger seat or something. Or maybe something that would mount on the console or be put on the floor somewhere.
I mean, true 50% or so of the drivers MIGHT use a purse, but it's kind of silly to put in a otherwise space reducing feature when 50% of drivers DON'T need such a feature. I think with a little creative thinking, you could probably jury rig something of your own design, if one hasn't been already made.
I vaguely remember my parents attaching stuff to the back passenger seat of our minivan growing up. I know they make stuff that will fit over car seats.

That's pretty much what I put my purse on. I have stuff there. How tiny is your purse? Lol! Big enough to carry a book and other commuting necessities!

Bathroom stalls! All of the newest buildings around here have really narrow stalls. I'm an average-sized person, & I'm thinking, "do they expect us to back in, and THEN close the door?" I don't even know how a larger woman would use these restrooms... You mean the ones where us larger gals have to practically stand on the toilet in order to get the door closed and pray your foot doesn't slip while doing so? Or standing there straddling the bowl while praying you don't knock yourself out trying to close the door?

I don't want pockets on my pants or dresses. I think they would lay funny with them. I can't think of any skirts that I own that have pockets. Some of my pants do (shallow ones) but the last thing I want it to shove stuff in my pocket and puff myself out! Yep. I also like trading off carrying stuff with my SO. If we are going somewhere crowded and moving around a lot, I'd rather leave my purse and he can carry my ID, cc, and phone in his pockets. When I have my purse, he would rather not have his wallet, keys, phone, and e-cig digging into him. Coat pockets on the other hand are awesome and I don't mind those. I wouldn't say design flaws are a result of gender either. There are a lot of designs that are simply flawed. I used to have both my XH and XBF carry things for me especially for formal events. I don't have a evening purse so sometimes I went without and it was their job to have the keys to the car and put perhaps Kleenex or emergency anti-histamines in their jacket or vest pocket.
Like Shaun, I pack the car with crap I might want but hopefully will not need.

I have stuff there. How tiny is your purse? Lol! Big enough to carry a book and other commuting necessities! Usually one book and maybe a couple of magazines depends on the boredom factor of where I'm going. Then paperwork needed for wherever I'm going, along with meds, hearing aid batteries and case. Tissues, lots of tissues, as I have decided to develop allergies. I usually use those little purse packs but ran out so had to stuff a wad in a baggie. My friend did ask me yesterday if I had the kitchen sink in there because we were out to eat and I needed something and spent 3 minutes pulling everything out before I found it. Hand sanitizer, hand cream, flashlight, and other shit that I really am not sure why it is in there but just feel naked without. I have no problems decluttering my house, ask DH, it's most of his shit I'm throwing out, but the purse is SACRED! And in the car, it usually gets thrown either on the front passenger seat if alone otherwise, it goes in the back, floor or seat, doesn't matter. Car's sort of clean. For now.

I put my purse (small suitcase) on the floor beside/under my left leg. It doesn't slide around and it's within easy reach for me. Maybe there's room for it there because my legs are long so the seat is pushed back. I've never really thought about where else I should put it.
I would like for clothing to have standard sizing. It's so random, even in the same clothing line. I wear American Eagle jeans to work. What size I need varies even among the different rinses of jeans in the same cut. Buying clothes online is a lot of guesswork for size. I only buy pants online if I know how the sizes for that brand usually run and it's still iffy. I have pants in sizes 4 through 8 and all of them fit.
I get irritated with the narrow bathroom stalls too. I'm fairly slim and I feel like I can barely get in and close the door. I'd rather not brush up against the surfaces in the stall trying to get situated. I'm guilty of using the handicapped stalls just so I don't feel so confined in the tiny ones.
