American Black Culture Needs A Reality Check

The old black civil rights machine's tired message that discrimination and persecution by whites is the biggest problem facing blacks in American today has reared its ugly head again in Ferguson, MO- only to be embarrassed again by another revelation that the alleged victim embraced and proudly displayed the gang / thug culture that has engulfed the black community.  It's time for blacks in America to quit worrying about the one-off incidents with people of other races, and start cleaning up their own house- where 94% of the violent crime against blacks comes from.

Weak family structures not only spell poverty and dependency but also contribute to the social pathology seen in many black communities -- for example, violence and predatory sex. Each year, roughly 7,000 blacks are murdered. Ninety-four percent of the time, the murderer is another black person. Though blacks are 13 percent of the nation's population, they account for more than 50 percent of homicide victims. Nationally, the black homicide victimization rate is six times that of whites, and in some cities, it's 22 times that of whites. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, between 1976 and 2011, there were 279,384 black murder victims. Coupled with being most of the nation's homicide victims, blacks are also major victims of violent personal crimes, such as assault, rape and robbery.

To put this violence in perspective, black fatalities during the Korean War (3,075), Vietnam War (7,243) and all wars since 1980 (about 8,200) come to about 18,500, a number that pales in comparison with black loss of life at home. Young black males had a greater chance of reaching maturity on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan than on the streets of Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Oakland, Newark and other cities.

This topic may create more harm than good among this particular community, that more than less, get along well with one another. When words are spoken from behind closed doors on a subject like this words may become too sharp to hear or handle. In my most humble opinion.

I am sure most everyone have perspective on this subject. I know I do, but would rather not take the leap. Not out of fear. But to help maintain the peace.

I tried to avoid this like the plague- but it is apparent a lot of white culture needs a reality check.

Pretty tired of the oppressed whitey narrative- junk that with the oppressed Christian bullshit, the people complaining about the war on Christmas and all the rest of that garbage.

Certain people don't get it and will never get it- and they are white people.  I don't get it- and I shouldn't- because I can never understand.

Want to talk about how stupid the right wing goofs are on this- The Daily Show spelled it out so perfectly with Hannity and his ridiculous yapping- his answer is if he get's stopped he gets out of the car and puts his hands up- and just to be sure the cops know he has a carry permit reaches down and lifts his shirt showing his gun -rofl-Only a delusional white person would think of this crap.  I hope he tries it

But it begs the question, "why do so many white Democratic liberals, hate their fellow white people?"

 I do not know Tennesseer's  ethinicity, so this is not necessarily addressed to him (I assume he is male) but this question is addressed to liberals in the Democratic party where there is obvious hatred shown towards white people by many liberals in the Democratic party.

I do feel Tennesseer has an obvious bias towards Paul (probably well earned by Paul) which Tenn freely expresses openly here on the boards, but why the baiting, and why is it allowed?

I do agree the war on drugs disproportionately effect blacks.  Though that is because blacks are, as illustrated in the OP, disproportionately involved in crime as a statistical population group.  This is likely because they're disproportionately involved in gang activity, and that is likely because they're disproportionately raised by single mothers, which is likely because the black community was targeted by liberals for "help" as has been mentioned- welfare.

The poor were targeted for welfare, not the blacks. In the end this is more a poverty problem than a race problem. I am guessing the stats on both victims & perpetrators would show most were raised in poverty regardless of race. Blacks are far more likely to be in poverty, which is why we see the much higher percentage of murder victims for their percent of the population.

And I have an issue with saying welfare has created this problem. I suppose you could argue both sides of the coin, but I think welfare gives women the option to not be stuck with a cheating, abusive, drunken, or whatever guy. Yeah, it gives us more single mothers, but it also gives us fewer women trapped in horrible relationships with no way out for them or their kids. I guess you can pick which evil is worse, but I would take a single mom over having two parents if my dad was abusive or on drugs.

It is kind of how women getting into the workforce led to a higher divorce rate. We can pretend all those marriages were unicorns & rainbows & women's lib screwed everything up. Or we can recognize reality, most of those marriages sucked, but they stayed together because the women were trapped.

I don't think he is 'excusing' it.  I think like most sane people he's saying- address it when it arises, but get off the idea that it's systemic, widespread, and tantamount to a systematic genocide.
