I needed some dry tomato soup mix for one of my recipes. However I can no longer find it. I did find powdered tomato. It comes in a pretty big jar so I was wondering what I could really use it for?

didn't it come in a red and white box, manufactured by Campbell's? Where is the Haitian when we need him?

I would use it to flavor soup or meatloaf. I used to use lipton dry tomato soup mix all the time
What brand is it? I'd be interested in finding some around here.
ETA: Maybe it was Campbell's? The Cup of Soup stuff, just add water.

I found some on amazon. There are multiple brands like Harvest house and others.

I'm curious.
What was the recipe that called for powdered tomato soup?

You could use it as rouge if you run out.

You could use it as rouge if you run out. LOL - "You look absolutely glowing tonight, dear. Your cheeks are like ripe tomatoes".

The recipe is my mom's chicken coating. It calls for 3 cups of bisquick, 2 envelopes of tomato soup mix, 1 TBL of paprika and 2 envelopes of good seasonings Italian dressing mix. This makes a lot so you can refrigerate what you dont' use (don't dredge the chicken through all of it obviously). Anyway, you coat the chicken with this mixture and drizzle a bit of butter on it and bake it. It always gets good reviews whenever she or I have made it.
