What movie was this?

This movie was probably made in the late 70's or early 80's.  And, I might not even remember it right, because I was REALLY little (around three or so) when my dad was watching it.  It was one of those movies my mom yelled at him for letting me watch and warned "if she's up with nightmares for a week, you're going to be the one dealing with it!" (dad was probably happy I didn't get scared from movies).

Anyway, the only thing I remember is that these guys were dressed up in what looked like space suits that had a plug in the front.  When someone pulled that plug on one of the guy's suits, all his guts spilled out and it killed him.

So, what movie was it?  (I've asked my dad, and he has no idea).

Beats me - since you were only about 3 yrs old, maybe your memory of the movie and the scene isn't really what was playing out on the screen. It sounds like it might be "Alien" .

Alien (1979)

On its way back to Earth, the commercial spaceship Nostromo is directed to a desolate planetoid after receiving a cryptic signal from a derelict alien spacecraft. While exploring the alien ship, one of the Nostromo's crewmen discovers the remains of the ship's pilot and also a large chamber that contains thousands of egg-like objects. One of the eggs releases a creature that attaches itself to his face and renders him unconscious. They break quarantine to bring him back aboard the ship, the parasite dies and he wakes up, seemingly fine. Soon afterwards, an alien organism bursts out of his chest and grows extremely rapidly into a terrifying eight-foot tall creature, and starts killing off the crew one by one.

I watched Alien when I was around the same age, and remember much more of that movie, although still not much (actually just started watching it about half an hour ago).  I remember the scene with the alien bursting out of the chest pretty vividly from that one.

You know, in the back of my mind, I was thinking that might be it.  But, I haven't seen it since and have no idea what it was about.  I didn't want to say it and look really stupid   If it was, I must have been closer to 5 or 6.

I have specific memories of stuff during childhood and I not every year but often enough bring up stuff that I remember and NO ONE ELSE REMEMBERS!!! like this scar on my leg!! Both my parents don't know how I got this scar! and all of them (parents & brother) look at me as I am the weirdo!

now with that said - yea I have a kinda bad memory! and when we do talk about stuff that only I remember it doesn't make since!

so you have a childhood memory of a movie - that your dad doesn't remember.
1- it's possible a suggestion could be made and you may not recognize it
2- try to think about more details of the movie
3- I guess it's not a movie but a 1/2 hour show / Twilight Zone or umm..that other show

In one bad version of Dune, the heart plug was represented in an odd way.

That version I don't remember any gut spilling though.

What I remember the most was they had a dairy cow hanging upside down

and it looked like some guy was vacuuming it. Was probably more sinister

than that as the first killing the guy by pulling his heart plug occurred right after that.

I also walked out on that movie, so I thankfully missed some of it.

If it was an episode on a television series, you'll probably never discover what episode it was. "Dune" was playing on one of the channels here this afternoon, so I channel-flipped while I was watching something else - and that's not it. "Dune" is an entirely different concept/plot

The video is pretty much exactly what I remember, but I did think the guts spilled out more, not just blood (everything is bigger when you're little!).  My mom used to get so mad at my dad for letting me watch this stuff with him!
