I just knew it when I saw it!  The news about Pitt & Jolie put weddings back on everyone's radar and XOXO started going up again! Drats! And that's my story & I'm sticking to it!

Hey, Value Buy is not asserting anything here.  Check back and look at some of my monumental mis-calls. Shorted when I should have gone long. Long when I should have shorted. Seventeen weeks where I did not match the benchmark Put them all together, average them out, and where am I? If we were placing real money here (and some of you might be some weeks) I would not afford bus money home from Vegas after a bad weekend This week's pick was not any different for me. Splunk was a stock cut way off it's highs, the consenus was for a bad quarter, and all it had to do was beat by maybe a penny and specialists spike the stock up. I thought 10 maybe, 12% spike tops. If it hit consensus, maybe flat or down slightly. Misses it drops. Flip a coin.... Vegas, Baby! Now granted a 21% increase makes you feel good, but I have had 20% losses too, and man do I feel embarrassed those weeks. I think I have stated this before, but I do like to go back and see how some of everyone's stocks perform the following week, based on their performance and announcements, and see which way they trade. Some fall back to a normal level, some continue on for another week or so. The patterns are hard to keep up with. Seems sometimes, like there is no pattern...... And, that is why my name is Value Buy, always looking for a value, and to hold onto it for the longterm position And now on to finding next week's pick! |

Congratulations VB for having a fast closer this week. architecto made it a close call to Place, while Ombud was able to stay ahead the pack to Show. Nice race, closing out August, now we enter the sometimes problematic month of September. Can the upward momentum stay on track or is it "beware the ides of September"? Believe there could be some big trouble brewing if Putin pushes a full scale invasion of Ukraine. |

Value Buy, ... CONGRATULATIONS for a great win; and to Ombud for the Show. I don't normally watch the race numbers too closely
during the week, however, I do keep a sheet with the numbers from each day. And, I sold my INUV early yesterday, .... should have
waited a few more hours. And about mid-day, I figured what percentage Value Buy needed to get his horse the collar of roses.
It was a very unusual and very interesting final stretch. And, Clark, as always, many thanks to you for the unbelievable amount of
effort you devote to this contest. I even have friends that don't have computers, but they often show an interest in the contest
status.
