news.discovery.com/earth/plants/could-hazelnut-shortage-threaten-nutella-140821.htmThis is sort of money related. First world problem, really. Unless you love chocolate and hazelnuts. Then the situation is dire. I think Angel is a huge fan of the stuff, but frankly, I could sit down with a jar and a spoon and do some serious damage, too. But the world's supply of hazelnuts is in trouble. Do we stock up now against invading marauders looking to muscle in on our supply?

You may have my share also. I like both chocolate and hazelnuts but not Nutella.

Hershey also sells hazelnut spreads. They also sell one with almond. Maybe will switch to the almond until that one becomes a problem.
I use Nutella/Hershey spreads most mornings on my whole grain bread. I fugure the nut cancels out the chocolate.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I guess I'm snobby because I will not switch to Hershey or even try it. Luckily I have two large unopened jars at home already. I guess I should hide them from myself.

I have yet to try Nutella. It looks intriguing, but although I love chocolate, spreading it on toast seems odd.

I have yet to try Nutella. It looks intriguing, but although I love chocolate, spreading it on toast seems odd. You could dunk fruits in it, eat it with crackers, or do it the best way......Take a spoon, sit on the couch and eat it by the spoonful in front of the tv. HEAVEN!!!!!

I've had it in the cart a few times and put it back. Lord knows I love sitting in front of the TV with chocolate...

Oh no! DD is addicted to Nutella. In fact, when we were doing her big "back to school" shop at Target, the Nutella was one of the first things to go into the cart.

Wegmans makes a good version. I bake cookies with it, so I buy the store brand spread.

I tried Nutella way back in the 80s before it was available in the US. My bff spent summers visiting her European relatives & raved about Nutella. She brought some back but I was unimpressed. I never tried it again. Maybe I should since everyone seems to love it. Then again do I really need to add another snack to my already long list?

No no no. Don't waste your money. It is not even edible. You'd be throwing your money away. Think of all the millions you could have if you invest those Nutella dollars!

I tried Nutella for the first time last week... It was gross, never again. I'll stick with peanut butter.

I probably should have started investing all the Nutella dollars I have saved since the 80s. Maybe I could even retire now if I had invested well

It was available here in the 80's, I grew up eating it. But I was born in Europe, maybe we put more of an effort into finding it.

It may well have been, but I'd never seen it before & it was widely popular in Europe as I guess you know!

Has the Almond crop also been effected by the Hazelnut shortage? It appears Walmart just raised the price of Almond Butter up a dollar to match the price of the coconut almond butter version.

You people are evil. I bought a jar. I was wrong. I can eat it on just bread. Happily. I offered some to my 4 year old. He took one bite and then said, "no thanks. I'm not interested".
