#JusticeforDylan No mention whatsoever of race in this story, but according to a caller to Rush Limbaugh's radio show today, the local media don't merely leave race out of it, but in the tradition of the "White Hispanic", they're describing a black police officer not as black, but as "other than white". dailybuzzlive.com/man-executed-cops-wearing-headphones-unable-hear-orders/This man was gunned down by police- he was not resisting, he did not assault the police officer, he did not flee- he simply couldn't hear their orders to get down because he was wearing headphones. No riots reported. And frankly, if it weren't for Rush, you all and I never would have heard about this story.

Well it probably made a difference they were responding to a 911 call of a man waving a gun, not telling someone to quit walking in the road since you and Rush want to compare the two incidents.
www.sltrib.com/sltrib/news/58287556-78/taylor-lake-police-salt.html.csp
South Salt Lake police, who are investigating the shooting, said Salt Lake City police were answering a 911 call reporting a man there was waving a handgun; Dillon Taylor purportedly matched the description of the armed man.
"He couldn’t hear them, so he just kept walking. Then ... they had guns pointed at his face. That’s when he turned off the music," he said. "I saw them point guns at my brother’s face, and I knew what was going to happen." One officer told Dillon Taylor to get on the ground, while another told him to put his hands on his head. "He got confused, he went to pull up his pants to get on the ground, and they shot him," Jerrail Taylor said.
Figured someone should take the bait.
I didn't catch the race of the (3) officers involved, but as you know suburban white people are not patrolled by a majority black police force and targeted relentlessly so I can see how you and Rush don't understand the difference. Maybe you two should get together and start a justice march for him.

Any questions popping into anybody's heads concerning all the heavy equipment showing up in police department inventories? Instead of police in cruisers it looks like we have panzegrenadiers in heavy armor patrolling streets. Just wondering here.

Was he waving a gun or at least showing one when the police arrived on scene, or was he just walking ?

Not clear yet- or if they recovered a gun- but at least the article I posted spelled the name of the person correctly. The 'DailyBuzz' writer was buzzed that day
But hey- maybe they overreacted and shot an unarmed person- and if so then same deal. I think I would let my pants drop and not reach for anything with a gun pointed at me though....

More Sensationalist Journalism from the Daily Buzz. The police were responding to a 911 call about a man waving a gun in the vicinity of the 7-11.
The one with the headphones didn't hear the order to stop. And why did he have to reach down to pull up his pants? Was he wearing them half-way down his ass "gangsta" style? He could have complied and let the pants fall to the ground.
This part of the article from the first link is why I call it "sensationalist journalism".
Is the word "savagely" used to create an emotional negative reaction or response about Police serving in the line of duty? No wonder their job is getting harder and harder every day .

"savagely" Reminds me of the failed attempt at sensationalist journalism with the 'Pelosi Had To Be Forcibly Removed From Floor During Meltdown' thread title.

They could of left out the whole "savagely gunned down" and simply used "shot" instead. The major media outlets seem to be stuck in an ever increasing cycle of verbal sensationalism. The hype gets tiresome.

i would posit that what makes the Ferguson story newsworthy has almost nothing to do with the initial police killing.

I started a thread about this some time ago and believe someone suggested I get my tin foil hat. this equipment was "gifted" from our wonderful Federal Government/MIC. this is the distilled essence of why EVERY American should oppose standing armies as much as Jefferson did. invariably, the war comes home. IN....VARIABLY. (for the record, i have been told i was crazy about this, too. "a volunteer army would never turn on it's own citizens". BULLSHIT. that position is so hopelessly naiive, and informed by a historical vacuum, that i can't even dignify it with a laugh)

I wanted to stick this somewhere and hope you don't mind it in your thread, Paul. Just thought it was funny.
