I wouldn't wear it, but then again, I find wedding attire challenging. No white, no red, no black, though now black is more okay, not too flashy, but flashy enough. I'm just glad I don't have any weddings coming up! why are red and black off limits? Red draws too much attention, and the attention is supposed to be on the bride. Black is an old-school rule, I think from when black was worn for funerals.

I think it's a rule-of-thumb NOT to wear white to a wedding if you're a guest.
White should be worn only by the bride.
The only way to possibly get around that, is to wear a colored jacket over the dress. Even a cream color would be more appropriate than white (IMO)
I'd stick to subdued or pastel shades or even a print - nothing bright or distracting.
You can wear navy or a navy/white combination (like a suit with white blouse or camisole), or a pastel shade of clothing such as teal, aqua, pink, etc - or even a subtle print dress.
But leave the white to the Bride.

The dress on the left is what I'm now considering since DH vetoed the dress on the right. And my bedroom walls are olive green. I don't know why they look like baby poop orange in this picture. This the back of the dresses.
This is another dress I could wear; it's just kinda tight. It is ten years old. I got a little pudgy when DH and I started living together. He's a good cook.
This is the dress on me. (Mother's Day 2014)

If you wear the white one - wear a slip or else your cooter will show.

OMG, I made DH and I matching Hawaiian shirts for a Luau at our lake Yacht Club dinner. You would have thought I asked him to cut off his ++++. He ended up wearing it, but it went into the trash that same night. Dressing to avoid clashing is one thing. Wearing matching shirts is totally cheesy. OMG. There is a retired couple in my town who dress identically every day. They get their pic in the paper sometimes. He always looks miserable; she always looks tickled pink.

The white dress is nice, but I don't think you should wear it. The blue & white dress looks good.

I vote for the blue and white. I like the long one too.

I love the long one.
I think the not wearing white thing is kinda stupid, though.
My solution is to not attend weddings. Avoid stupid, arbitrary rules, as well as avoiding people. Win-win.

I love the long one.
Stop eating, get a colonic (I heard about it on some TV show, but don't really know what it is) and wear the long one.
The blue/white one looks like a "kid" dress, but I don't know much about fashion. Well, actually, I don't know anything about fashion anymore......I should start a thread on that.....ummm...
Yeah, I vote for the long one!

the blue and white dress looks like something you would wear out for a mother's day brunch when you didn't want to show too much skin and offend your mother-in-law - definitely not something you would wear to have fun. I like the black and white one. how about some spanx?

Yeah, I am very conservative with cleavage coverage and skirt length. Do spanx really work?

Don't wear white. The blue is cute but very casual.

I like the black and white one, but what do I know, DSD tells me my fashion sense would fit on a match book cover

I think I would go with the blue and white one as a safe bet, the black and white one as a more fun night out bet. But I wouldn't wear the white one.
