Asshats. DH has worked for this guy since April. Really small company (HVAC). One installer (DH) and one service tech. My DH has been in this business for over 20 years and he knows his field.
The employer/owner is not organized on some jobs, so some jobs have taken longer. My husband has not been doing anything but doing his job, not being a problem, not causing shit, etc.
The employer is just bitchy. No good job just bitches if the job is longer. Since working there, DH has gotten tips from customers, mostly $50 and food. Today he brought home cupcakes.
I'm telling him to keep an eye on Craigslist. Because the employer has an ad there looking to replace DH and the service tech (who has worked there for almost 3 years).
Life can sure throw crap at you. Some people just suck. As to Noah, he is doing good so far with PT. Doing a great job and I'm proud of him. Love him! So proud of my lil one!

Who knows why people do the things they do. Some people should not be managers/business owners.

my guess is DH is better than boss? boss recognizes this because DH is getting tips and covering bosses ass. but instead of showing appreciation boss would rather replace your guy.

I've found a lot of the very small business owners tend to be pricks...I'm guessing that's why they tend to always stay very small - because no one will work for them very long, which means they can't grow.

Wonderful news about Noah, Les! I'm so glad he's doing well with his PT. That can be difficult for adults! Good on the little guy! Yay! Your husband's employer sounds like one of those who has a tendency to blame any difficulties encountered on someone other than himself. Since it can't be him causing the problems, it must be his employees. Yeah. Right. NOT! I'm sorry your DH has to deal with that.

I've worked in large and small companies, and bad owners/bosses/supervisors/managers happen everywhere. In a large company, those in middle and lower management levels can hide easily. In government jobs, it takes a crapload of evidence to fire them. In small companies, they may be bad people personality-wise, but other managers may feel they get the job itself done, or the company owner is just too danged lazy to find someone to replace them. I'd say that your DH is doing the right thing: keep his eyes open for a new position, talk to other guys/gals in his field and really establish and use the occupational grapevine; it may lead to a new job faster than all the applications he could fill out. Glad to hear that your little man is doing well.
