Finally some good news out of TN. Take your cash and shove it in your ass- we do not need to politicize the courts- and sure as shit not with a bunch of out of state dirty money.

The campaign to replace Tennessee's justices was kicked off by Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey and spearheaded by the Tennessee Forum, a Franklin-based group whose replacement campaign was funded mostly by more than $400,000 from Ramsey's political action committee. They were supplemented by outside, conservative groups like the Koch Brothers' Americans for Prosperity and the Republican State Leadership Committee -- groups that Ramsey helped recruit
We have more than enough conservatives around here. Why not concentrate on fucking up the state like they did in Kansas

I did make sure I voted for Chief Justice Gary Wade and Justices Connie Clark and Sharon Lee. You never know when one vote just might change the outcome of an election.
The TV ads against Wade, Clark and Lee were pretty trashy.
Other good news is TV's Judge Joe Brown lost his race for our county's district attorney position. Too much grandstanding on his part. Celebrity will only get you so far. Brown received only 35% of the vote.

I just saw this headline on the MSN news main page, ''SNL Alum Loses Bid For Seat', and said to myself, "It must be Victoria Jackson." Sure enough, it was. Victoria Jackson loses bid for Tenn. county seatFormer "Saturday Night Live" cast member Victoria Jackson has lost her bid as an independent candidate for a seat on a county commission in Tennessee. Jackson, who calls herself a tea party conservative, moved to Thompson Station last year and said she filed as an independent to run for the Williamson County Commission because she's "very disappointed with the Republican Party." The Tennessean (http://tnne.ws/1q001hp) reports Jackson received 632 votes. Two others received more votes: Judy Lynch Herbert with 1,422 and Betsy Hester with 1,380. The County Commission has two commissioners in each of its 12 districts. Jackson had made appearances at multiple political events in Middle Tennessee since making her home there. ... How is the money dirty ? All money, it turns out, could stand to be laundered: the stuff is filthy. Studies show that a solid majority of U.S. bills are contaminated by cocaine. Drug traffickers often use coke-sullied hands to move cash, and many users roll bills into sniffing straws; the brushes and rollers in ATMs may distribute the nose candy through the rest of the money supply.
Also found on bills: fecal matter. A 2002 report in the Southern Medical Journal showed found pathogens — including staphylococcus — on 94% of dollar bills tested. Paper money can reportedly carry more germs than a household toilet. And bills are a hospitable environment for gross microbes: viruses and bacteria can live on most surfaces for about 48 hours, but paper money can reportedly transport a live flu virus for up to 17 days. ... content.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1914560_1914558_1914544,00.html

Koch brothers have been spending their money on elections all over the country. Crazy amounts, too.
Imagine the good that could be done with that money, instead of wasting it on elections...

There being no Republican on the November ballot, Sheriff Clarke is almost certain to win re-election. You are aware of what the tea moron and Koch brothers loyal stooge did to Kansas aren't you? So bad a lot of GOP members are backing a democrat.
online.wsj.com/articles/some-in-kansas-gop-break-with-gov-brownback-endorse-democratic-opponent-1405441534
More than 100 Republican officials endorsed the Democratic opponent of Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback on Tuesday, the latest sign of re-election troubles for one of the nation's most conservative governors.
Prodded by Mr. Brownback, who cast the policy as a model for Republican governors across the country, the legislature cut the top income-tax rate by 25% as part of a plan to completely eliminate the tax. He also won their backing for the elimination of taxes on non-wage income for many businesses.
But the experiment has caused a steep drop in state revenues, while not yet delivering outsize economic growth. Those endorsing Mr. Davis pointed to the cuts as a main reason why they are breaking from the party.
Still, the endorsements feed Mr. Davis's campaign, which argues that Mr. Brownback is putting Kansas in a precarious fiscal position by relying on reserves to balance its budget.
Moody's Investors Service cut the state's credit rating this spring, and Mr. Davis says the Brownback administration is starving local schools.

BTDT It's actually a type of fabric instead of paper to make it more durable, which is why it can be washed But - not going to lie - the stats on the germs are enough to make me stick to using my own plastic card vs. going to a cash envelope system. Especially in the cold/flu season. Blech.

How does California work out on a per citizen basis ? That's what I usually use for a fiscal efficiency judgment.

I have voted for Clarke in the past, but I have not liked what he has been doing over the last several years. I voted for the opponent in this election. This is a uniquely strange race. Clarke is on the Democratic ticket, which works well b/c most of the city of Milwaukee is Minority and votes Democratic. The outlying counties tend to be republican. They say Clark is a DINO and that he would be the perfect republican candidate. He is thought to be a strong contender to unseat the current Mayor but IDK if he will run against someone in his own party. He is not incompetent, he has gotten divissive and petty imho, hopefully we will see less of this this term.
