I was watching GMA when they aired this segment. She holds events in the closet. I kinda just sat there dumbfounded while watching it. They I got up and went to my walk in closet held a vodka drinking party of one and cried LOL!
I just can't get over why the heck someone "needs" it. It looked like a Dept. Store. All that was needed was some snotty sales person who doesn't make enough to buy the product.
And were those big photos of her?
I couldn't get the past the fact that she had 3 identical bags that each retailed for 10K each and that was in addition to her 10 rolex's, etc. What I found the most hysterical about that was that she was talking about how these items had sentimental value. Aside from a couple pieces of jewelry, none of my clothes, shoes, or handbags have sentimental value.

The point that ya'll are missing is that there's still $ 59,000,000 worth ( ? ) of finery ( left in that troll hole. So, they'll be back. ETA: Please keep women from doing that to their lips, whatever it is....

We bought this house from a divorcee who did VERY well in her settlement. Her closet and the downstairs closets were stuffed with expensive clothing. Tons of LV as well, even had an LV dog carrier. She actually left one behind! Her bathroom products were $300 a bottle and there were lots of them. Wow.

That's amazing, zib. When I was growing up, we lived next door to a family that were millionaires. Everyone had a lake lot, and they had a 2 BR, custom built house, but it was really a largish ranch. Mrs. A. owned a mink stole, which she let us girls stroke, and they drove a Cadillac. They had a house in Palm Beach, built in the same style as their ranch up north. They summered up north, and wintered in Florida, taking their son out of school with each move. They did it for years. Looking back on it, overall, they were very "regular" people, with just a little more money. Nothing snobbish about them at all. What a contrast to the dame with the closet.

Coach has some very nice bags - you just wouldn't know they're Coach because they don't have the logo plastered all over them..... they're also nearly $1k a pop. I used to admire Coach because they expanded from a luxury brand known mostly to the well-heeled to a much wider "aspirational" market (who couldn't afford a Mercedes-Benz or a McMansion in Westchester but, by golly, they could put a Coach bag on their credit card) and kept up their image as a quality brand for years. That's changed. The well-heeled have moved on to Kate Spade, Michael Kors and probably some I've never heard of. Last time I went into a Coach outlet store, it was all flimsy materials, cheap-looking colors and made in China. I have some of their older pieces (including a purse made in NYC in the 1980s that a hotel check-in clerk offered to buy from me). Big difference.
If I were going to spend $1K on a bag (and I'm not) it would be something made in Italy, not China, or something bought from the person who made it. Buying as $1,000 Coach bag would be like buying a $1,000 pair of shoes at PayLess. Doesn't matter how good they are; it's a cheap brand.
Most of the Coach products in the outlets are made specifically for the outlets, and are, as you noted, not the same quality as the first-line Coach products. You have to look in the official Coach stores and in nice department stores for their good stuff. You can usually tell the difference by the logos. From my observation, the "real" products have the horse-drawn-coach logo, while the outlet stuff just says "Coach" in cursive. Occasionally there will be overstock products from the regular Coach stores in the outlets, but they go quickly. The regular, non-outlet Coach products are still of good quality and much more expensive than the outlet products. Unfortunately, Coach has outsourced most of their manufacturing. I don't think they make anything in the U.S. any more. They used to have a factory in NYC where they made all their leather bags. I do think, though, that a lot of the stuff made for the outlets is still of decent quality compared with more mass-market items, but it is true that it is not as good as the first-line Coach products.

If you look inside the bag and read the label and serial number, if it starts with the letter "F" is was made specifically for the Factory Outlet stores. If there is no letter in front of the number it is a regular Coach bag.
