I will be driving down to FL in a couple of weeks. It looks like I77 somewhere around Statesville will be about halfway.
A friend raved about a Marriott property in Elkins, which is about twice the price as one of their properties in Statesville. Obviously, I'd rather pay less; but the big difference for hotels that appear about 30 miles apart makes me nervous.
Any recommendations along that route in NC?

do try the hampton inn dobson nc...it has a sister winery shelton winery that has a small wine bar...good stuff! affordable place, super clean and great coffe in the AM!!! just be advised not much around....but, thats okay there is a great family style diner across the street where the rpices are so cheap you wont believe it and the food is good. safe travels

The trip was actually the end of August, and we stayed in a Fairfield Suites in Elkins, NC, which a business acquaintance recommended. It was fine, but I'd like to try something different on the next trip. |
