Anybody run across any info on this? Brief paragraph in my email from Lignet (Langley Intelligence Group Network) today. China to invest 40 billion in a new canal across Nicaragua. Security for the project is to be provided by Russia. I've not seen any reference to this in other media sources before today.

No, we don't walk away. But when we're holding on to something precious, we run.

I see they have a 50 year time frame to complete it with construction starting this year. I wonder what feathers will be ruffled if the Russian security thing is for real?

There has been tak about this for MANY years. I recall some before DD1 was born & she is nearly 40.
That said, w/ financing from China it 'may' happen in my grandchildren's (1 year -9years). However I cannot see China paying and Russia providing security. I honestly believe those 2 will be at each other WAAAY before the 50 year target date (and they 'deserve' each other).

Well the newer cruise ships are now as overweight as the passengers, and can't fit through the canal anymore.
