Even though I divorced the ex-asshat I do still keep a supply of booze on hand in case I have to deal with him on the rare occasion he wants to discuss our children. Sad I know.

Can you tell I spent last weekend with DH's cousin et al? We're still comparing all the ways she tried to pry personal information out of us. I used to think "How y'all doing?" was a general inquiry into our basic health and well-being. Oh hell no, that gal wanted more personal info than a potential mortgage lender and my gyno combined. Best question ever, I swear, "Are you sure your brother is dead?" Here's the background: cuz co-signed for a car loan for DH's dead bro about 40 years ago on which he defaulted (Surprise!) so she ended up paying $900 out-of-pocket. DH's bro died about 5 years ago, DH talked to him on his death bed, and we attended the funeral. Yeah, we're pretty sure he's gone and you are not going to see your $900. Quit hinting, woman! We aren't responsible for the loser's bills. Oh lordy, it was a really long weekend in which I kept my mouth shut and my head down in my portable distraction. And thanked God for the hotel bar. Of course, being a good YM'er I didn't do the mini-bar

She's only asking for 900? Be glad she's not a YMer hitting you up for 40 years of compounding interest too!

You all making booze sound like its a thing that helps you dealing with crappy situations as supposed to enhancement of fun in life.

Hell, I don't know! We haven't heard from the SOB since he and wifey-poo moved from California to a new home about 2 hours from here.

Oh, and alcohol helps when it comes to angry pets who do not want to go to the vet. Not sure if I should dose myself or the cat at this point. DH sure isn't getting any booze; unless I smack him over the head with the bottle. He's apparently useless at getting the cat into the carrier. Yes, I offered to help before I left this morning. He said he could do it.

Some people are just not good business owners, nor do they know how to keep family out of their finances. Just a thought.

They had retired from good transportation business and got bored and decided to go do something again. That store was for sale. It was like cursed...

Well, seems like some locations ARE cursed, no matter what business opens there. We have a few places like that around here. Sure hope they can get out from under that debt! Scary...

Because relatives exist. Just sayin........ HAve you been reading my mind? I killed a bottle of wine last night in under an hour and have been paying for it all day. Mom and my son are at odds again and of course Mom puts me in the middle like I'm supposed to make him live the way she wants him to. Ummm...........she raised him, not me. She's the one that won't stay out of his business and stop trying to "help" him (which is exactly how she treated me in my 20's), he's 28 years old - a grown man - and living 10 hours away so I don't know how I'm supposed to make him do anything. Opening his mail, trying to cover an overdraft on his local checking account when she just lost money couldn't afford to lose at the casino last week and then calling him while he's at work and getting upset with him about it is going to elicit a strong, harsh reaction from anyone. Not to mention, I told her not to put the money in his account and let him deal with it not two days ago. So here I am upset that they are fussing, again and having to bite my tongue to keep from yelling at her that she truly brought this one on herself and needs to just get over it instead of having a tantrum with him over the phone and then telling me to tell him not to call her ever again.
