Why would anyone stick their nose into a business of people they DON'T KNOW? These people found their auditory and making a living out of it. I had heard of them. Never seen. WHO CARES If they didn't want people to stick their nose into their business they wouldn't have a show. They get paid to have people in their business.

THEY had not minded BG's post. That's what they are living for. However BG's business in their business is not understood to me. She is hollier than that, she is never sticking her nose into people businesses. that is why I am AND BTW this is exactly what I said... actually, I don't see a problem registering for duct tape and lint remover and all those silly things you need in a house but don't have the money to go buy.
The best wedding presents we got were a heavy duty wheelbarrow and a chainsaw.

So, what does this new husband do to support them? I saw the previews and knew she was getting married, but I haven't watched it yet or know anything about him. And will she work? Just nosy really.

I also thought it was good taste to put items from a wide range of price ranges on the registry, so that someone who wants to give a gift, but can't afford a lot, can still get you something you'd like and use..

Looking at the registry on Walmart.com, they have very little that has been purchased. But I wonder...6 sets of sheets, 2 or 3 comforter sets, a bike rack.

I think she means audience. I just got caught up with a few threads (been out of town for 10 days) and I have no clue what she means. I may have to go get another cookie and come back and try reading again.

I'm pretty sure she means audience because while the Russian word "auditoriya" primarily means auditorium, it is also the collective noun for audience in some contexts, of which this appears to be one. So, I think our Loony has more or less just transliterated the Russian word while at the same time introducing something of a false cognate. You wouldn't expect her to do anything simple, would you?

What do scruples have to do with anything?
scru·ple [skroo-puhl] noun 1. a moral or ethical consideration or standard that acts as a restraining force or inhibits certain actions. 2. a very small portion or amount. 3. a unit of weight equal to 20 grains (1.295 grams) or 1/3 of a dram, apothecaries' weight. 4. an ancient Roman unit of weight equivalent to 1/24 of an ounce or 1/288 of an as or pound.
Criminy.

Statistically speaking, at least one of the Duggar kids is gay. Which one do you think it is?

The best wedding presents we got were a heavy duty wheelbarrow and a chainsaw. Totally agree. I don't think we ever ended up using our wedding china. But I've used my chainsaw many times and that would have been an awesome gift.
Also, as a guest at a wedding sometimes I get put off by really over the top registries. Yeah, I know that's judgy, but I don't like getting a registry full of expensive, useless stuff and having to choose between buying a $200 crystal pickle dish or a $250 monogrammed picnic basket or getting something not on the registry. If I got a registry list with interesting, random, fun and practical things, I'd really get into the gift buying and make a huge basket of stuff with an accompanying letter that had a funny story of how the couple was going to use it. In fact, I'd probably be so tickled by their down to earth requests, I'd spend much more on the gift than I would otherwise.

Criminy. Wait for Danny. It will be explained. I am sure. From me: Having scruples is kind of like having a conscience: your morals or scruples cause you to act in ways you think are right.
The idea of scruples has to do with ethics and morality: what is right and wrong. If you had no scruples at all, you'd just kill, steal, cheat, and do God knows what else. Scruples are a kind of moral compass that lets you know what's right. Often people use this word in an outraged way when someone does something bad: "Don't you have any scruples?" Liars, thieves, criminals, and politicians have fewer scruples than the rest of us.
I have also heard that word used in a sentence where it had to do with problem solving skills...

Criminy. OK, here's my take on the scruples thing. The extended Russian definitions for the English word "scruples" include the idea of doubt or hesitancy and our idea of scrupulousness. Since I am (thankfully) unable to read Loony's mind, I could not state definitely that I knew what she meant and appeared to express some doubt at first and then added more detail after further thought. So, I think that might be where "scruples" comes in. I could, of course, be entirely wrong.
This could just be another example of the misconception that words and concepts have exact one-to-one equivalents between languages. Except for some (but not all) very concrete things like "tree" or "table" or "the pen of my aunt", it is often necessary to use a phrase (or sometimes a paragraph) to translate a word from another language because the apparent dictionary equivalent is only an approximation or does not precisely fit the context in which it appears.
We tease Loony, but for someone who, if I recall correctly, learned English as an adult, she does a pretty good job.

she does. but there's still this nifty thing called a dictionary, for those times you're not sure about a word.

They're getting wedding presents from approximately 1500-2000 guests ( considering that there will be couples in the guest mix ) ? They will have it made.

OK ladies, listen up: Here is the advice from Michelle Duggar to her daughter Jill.
“Be available, and not just available, but be joyfully available for him. Smile and be willing to say, ‘Yes, sweetie I am here for you,’ no matter what, even though you may be exhausted and big pregnant and you may not feel like he feels,” Michelle said, explaining that was the best advice she ever received. “I’m still here for you and I’m going to meet that need because I know it’s a need for you.”
