I placed this on the P&M board because of Washington D.C. and their level of imbiding. If a mod thinks it should go elsewhere, I understand.
Was shocked that California did not max out in the wine drinking category. They were not even close. Demograhics of residents of the state probably keep it within norms in all categories. |

I live in Wisconsin...I don't think I even need to click the link to know it would be somewhere towards tipsy Wisconsin beat the national average in every category. New Hampshire was way up there in two categories. Seems northern states must have hard winters and hot summers, and people suffer from it, because other than Lousianna and Florida, it was mostly northern states. Not sure what was up with New Hampshire, unless they are worried about too many people from NYC vacationing there

It's more likely the folks in the northern states can afford to buy booze with their own money. While the northern states have their share, the southern states have the largest percentages of residents receiving food stamps (which cannot be legally used to buy booze (but can get around it)).
Maybe they should have polled for moonshine and other home brews.
