The first time I ever met him, my daughter brought him with her for Christmas. I had something to do, so I offered everyone a drink and a snack (Godiva chocolates I had just received, as a gift - they were my favorite) while they waited. When I came back in the room and went to get a chocolate for myself, I found every chocolate in the box half eaten!  I was so mad!
When I said something to him about it, he said "Hey, I was doing you a favor!"     -That broke the ice. I cracked up.

Only kidding. I had my wisdom teeth removed today. I only had two left. So he got the right ones. They were the ones on the left.

(I know. I sound like a Laurel and Hardy routine on laughing gas. Sorry. )

Thanks, Iggs. On the 1 to 10 scale, I would call it a 2 at the moment. The gauze in my cheek is the most annoying thing, but it absorbs liquid and food bits, so it is necessary. I can take a tremendous amount of pain, so my idea of a level 2 is different from other people; too many competitions (and a few surgeries) have definitely increased my capacity. I am enjoying my homemade matzoh ball soup and chocolate frozen yogurt shakes, I must admit. I wish I could toss a little Bailey's  into the shake, but not with the pain meds.

My dad was a dentist and pulled my wisdom teeth. I was around 28-29 at the time.

I only had uppers-one on each side of the upper teeth. So dad gave me a few shots of novocaine on each side. He said he would be back in about ten minutes to test if enough novocaine was given. I asked him to tell me when he was going to pull the teeth. He said he would.

Ten minutes passed, dad returned, and took a dental pick and poked here and there. He asked me if I could feel it. I said yes. So he gave me some more novocaine. Again he said he would be back in ten minutes. He went and worked on another patient.

Ten minutes passed and he again took a pick and asked me if I could feel it. I said no. All of a sudden he yanked both teeth out in about 20 seconds time.

I said to Dad, "I thought you were going to tell me when you were going to pull the teeth!" Dad replied, "I lie to all the little kids."

No pain even after the novocaine wore off.

My oral surgeon said to take all four so I’d never have to do it again. I insisted that the kids have the same thing done. Once is enough for that.
