I had a clutch going out and tried to drive in downtown Seattle. My story is nowhere close as exciting as the two of yours. I remember getting stuck on a slight incline at McD's the day my BIL was teaching me the standard. Felt like we were holding up the line for eons, LOL. I bought my first 5 speed at age 40 from a friend under one condition - they had to give me driving lessons after we got home from work. We went to fairgrounds to practice. I kept my Toyota for two weeks till I got the hang of it! ken a.k.a OMK I loved looking in rear view mirror and watch the eyes of the driver behind get wide thinking I Was going to roll back and hit them. I hated tailgaters with a passion and had my maneuver down to a fine science. |
