I'm just curious if people ever contact manufacturers when they end up with less in a package of meat than they expected. I've started buying some Organic Coleman boneless skinless chicken thighs when it hits the meat manager discount bins so per the package it becomes $2/lb. This last one I processed all at once and realized that while the package promised 4 lbs., it really ended up being 3.5 lbs. and a good portion of "chicken liquid"(or whatever you want to call it).
Since I got it on discount do you think its worthwhile to complain or should I just put that down to lesson learned? One of the packages had part of a bone in it which I saved in case the advice is write them anyway.
So what do you think?

They usually have some fine print on the package saying that up to 12% is injected solution, so they pretty much cover the problem of it being so much fluid.

Sometimes when people write in, they get refunds or coupons. And some personal satisfaction. Why not write?
And just because the store sold it at a discount doesn't matter. The packaging info should be correct.

I would complain about a bone in a package of boneless meat but not the amount of liquid in the package.
Packages are are getting smaller all over the store. Meat used to be sold in 1 lb packages but is now only 12 oz. I sent DH to get a 15 oz. can of tomatoes and now it's only 14 oz. toilet paper used to be the width of the roll, not anymore.

Thanks everyone for your replies. The packages seem to vary a bit in size, but I had forgotten about the old "solution" thing. Its a three part package which are made to be separated. According to the labels they seem to vary from 3 to 4lbs. size.
Maybe I will write them. The bone piece was a surprise, but still comes in second to the time I found a green frozen caterpillar in my package of frozen green beans.

Of course you contact someone if a lie was told. But not the manufacturer. They didn't sell it.
