The " I Am Leaving" Thread - to let us all know why

I am proposing a sort of "swan song" thread for those that decide to leave, so we won't be left hanigng.

I think that it would be nice to let us know, as some considerate people have,

1.   That you're leaving, if you want to share, of course,

2.   Why you're leaving ( time constraints, you're mad, you are taking a rest, you just became a billionaire, there is illness in your family, etc. ),

3.    Whether you might be back in the future,

4.   Any words of advice that are within the bounds of TOS, 

5.   And, hopefully, a funny little saying for us to remember you by if you never return.


This idea, if followed in good faith, would also give us all a chance to say good-bye to you.

It would not be used for nastiness and potshots, just as a chance to say farewell.

Are you kidding? It's only a matter of time before the whole baby drama ramps up again, they need to sell the house at a loss to move to be together, there is a major/expensive problem with the house, one of their crazy relatives moves in or something else just as bizarre happens. Cawiau's family is the gift that keeps on giving.

I must say I am phenomenally relieved upon reading this thread that it was more lighthearted.  I am always sad to see people go, even if it wasn't someone I had a strong connection with.  I know that things come up in people's lives, and that some will post in spurts.  I just think it is important to stay in touch.  

I have more meaningful relationships with folks here than I do with many of the people I know in real life.

   Personally, I'd rather you didn't leave, because you have an interesting life, you have some interesting viewpoints about your workplace, you had a great saga about selling your condo, which was beautiful, your discussions about your homeowners association are fascinating, and you have great avatars.    So, please stay.

Nuh uh.  I just saw you online.    But I do agree about it getting too static here and knowing people too well that we are all repeating our same stories over and over after 8, 10? years.   When I answer generic questions on a thread I feel like I keep telling the same stories because  I can't go back and make them different or more interesting so it's same ole same ole.  But I blame ya'll because you need to start threads about newer topics!   It's not because I'm boring!

I can be doxie-ish for awhile. There will be quite a bit of financial gymnastics involved with getting out of this house and into another. And adding in a baby on top of it. Once we got our preapproval DH decided to up the range we were looking at. You know, just a bit....

Same here! I was not that invested in the drama, but I actually learned a thing or two from others who posted on those threads . . .

One of the mods (I forget who) posted a VERY carefully worded missive that basically said Doxie was causing a lot of negative controversy and then turning around and complaining to the ProBoards people that she was being harassed and the mods were not doing anything about it. I guess it was felt there was a potential danger that the whole MSN Refugee Board could be in jeopardy because of her claims of mistreatment in violation of ProBoard's standards, so in some unspecified way she was either asked to leave or she was dropped/banned.

Did I get that right?

If she came back with a different name and registered with a different email how would we know? After all, i thought she was cm at one point as some others think. Or maybe she is just driving other boards crazy it was entertainment

I will be posting a ridiculous Hawaii budget in a couple of months for you all to dissect and scold me, but only if DH starts to like the job. So far he isn't liking it, so we may not be moving.
