So, while sitting here at my desk, the phone rang. I looked at the caller ID and it said my name and my number was calling me. Hmmm, calling myself must be a new idea, right?
Nope, seems as though it was Rachael from card holder services....telling me there was nothing wrong with my accounts...so I hung up.
Certainly happy she cleared that up, I was really worried about things NOT! So, if you find yourself calling yourself too, say Hi to Rachael for me.

LOL ........ I had a call today from a robo telling me if I press '1' I can get information about lowering my CC rate.
DH got a call a couple of days ago from someone with a very heavy accent saying something was wrong with security on his computer. He told them he didn't have a computer and they hung up on him ........... Very hurt.

HELLO SENIORS!
This is the salutation I have been getting for calls from Life Alert. I'm 54, not 84!
Anyway, they called at 8 am one morning, I didn't have my first cup of coffee in me yet. So I stayed online to talk to a person. I asked Jessica for her personal phone number. She asked me why? I told her that I wanted to make sure that she got a phone call bright and early in the morning, despite being on the do not call list, since SHE thought it was such a good idea to call me.
She hung up on me....but I've NOT gotten another call from them in a week!

I have been getting calls from Rachel at credit card services at least 3x/week for 6 months. I am on the do not call list but cannot figure out how to report them because I sure would.
Yesterday I made like a crazy woman. Went on a rant how all credit cards are evil & don't have, won't ever have use. CSR "promised" to remove my number from thier list. It seems to have worked for the microsoft spam/phishing calls. Have not heard from them in several weeks (knock on wood).

That Rachel is calling about transactions any responsible card holder would already know about? Or that she is calling from the phone I am answering whee I know she is not?

And make sure that cup of coffee on your desk has no neighbor like a small bottle says 'whiskey' or 'burbon'...you get my drift? Go check

It was simple: the caller ID listed my name and my number as the person calling me.
These telemarketers are getting more and more clever.

I had someone call me at midnight once, thinking it was an emergency I rushed to the phone. Nope it was some random company wanting me to consolidate my student loans with them. That guy got treated to the cussing out of a lifetime.

We are on the do not call list and there is one company that is relentless. They have been calling 2-3 times a day for the past 3 weeks. We've been super busy so I don't bother answering and messing with them. They called again last night and DS asked me why I didn't just answer the phone. I replied that I wanted to see how much money they wasted by listening to our voicemail.

I got 13 calls from the same number yesterday in less than 30 minutes. I assume it was some problem with the autodialer. I was able to block the number but Verizon only lets you block 10 at any time so I had to erase one from my list.

It's very easy for software to reflect back a number and name when calling to block the true identity of the caller. I am guessing a call from yourself could be assumed to be spam.

I am guessing a call from yourself could be assumed to be spam. It reminds me of an old joke when drunk is hearing someone pounding on a front door, he comes to the door asking 'who is there?'. The answer is 'I am!' The drunk is to himself 'I AM?'

Blonde Granny the same thing happened to me at home last week. For a brief instant every slasher movie I've ever seen came flashing back at me....."the call is coming from inside the house".......I was terrified. I knew it was irrational but I couldn't shake it. I called my best friend & made her talk to me while I checked the basement. She had me laughing at myself after a few minutes.

Oh no, you had to go add fuel to the fire because of your imagination.....now I need to worry about a slasher living in my attic.

It's funny but it is an odd feeling to see your own name on your caller ID.

These telemarketers are getting more and more clever. I think its related to those people who think spam email is more likely to be opened if it comes from your email ID or very similar to. I guess it must work on some people, but for me it tells me not to read the email. Thanks for posting this. I'll not answer if I ever see that happen on my caller ID.

The Do Not Call List has worked quite well for me, thank goodness. Your phone call would have weirded me right out! Glad you are okay!

I am one of those people who doesn't answer the phone unless I recognize the number. If they really want me, they will leave a message. If it is a real message, I do return the call. Otherwise, I add them to my blocked call list on the mobile phone.

I have 18 phone numbers blocked so far. I think ATT allows for 30 (I hope)
