I know, I'm a broken record. Get a copy of the plan. Eat only from the least reactive foods for a week then test new foods one at a time. Write everything... What you eat and reactions, in a food journal.
My mom had severe stomach issues for years, and no relief from daily pain till she find this... I'm hoping to avoid her downward spiral by paying attention earlier.

I agree with Oped. We have 3 people in our family who have had similar conditions.
Do you have a problem when eating only one type of food at a time?
I believe that mixing our foods can cause many problems due to enzyme conflict. Eating at buffets is horrible on my digestive system.
Also, are you taking a lot of probiotics?

A bunch of my Mom's sisters had gall bladder problems, pain, etc., that weren't resolved until they had their gall bladders removed. Best wishes on figuring out the problem!

Does yogurt help you? I eat one of the gogurt tubes a day. They are 2 1/2 oz and can be frozen. Keeps the bacteria in my gut happier.
I know it's tough trying to lose weight. I'm 72 and have spent most of my life battling this. I now weigh less than I did in high school because DH had a heart attack 2 years ago.
That's when we went low sodium, 1500mg max per day. Keeping our sodium under control automatically made us do portion control also.
All the fresh fruits and veggies we want. Protein items (meats, eggs, nuts) are about 75mg per serving ...... and a serving is the size of a deck of cards.
Try the low sodium for a week. Get rid of the excess water on your system and see if that helps.
PS: for a very nice treat ......... DARK chocolate has zero sodium. So do popsicles.

I am trying kefir for my gut issues. Last night I drank some before bed, first time I haven't had heartburn in I don't know when at night. I sleep with the head elevated on my bed, I have an adjustable bed. Bought it years ago to help with reflux. I'm going to try it again tonight, if something so simple can help me I'm good with that, better then pills. Apparently it coats the esophagus so the acid doesn't burn it.
Down a 1/2 pound, hope I can keep it up. I need to get this weight down for many reasons. By cooking differently and eating less and having less available should help DD too. Somewhere I think I read that acid re-flux had something to do with Pancreatitis. Every time I see your avatar of your motor home I get envious. I would really like to get another one, but DH has lost his confidence in driving one.

It's being on the freeways going 80 MPH and trying to switch lanes, that will send me screaming for the Xanax.

If you're having epigastric discomfort, another thing to try is to have your GP check for H. pylori. It's the bacteria associated with ulcers. It's a blood test, so quick and easy and a pretty inexpensive treatment if it's found to be the culprit. It's one I always ran for people with these complaints and we solved a number of them that had been going untreated for quite awhile.

Pat...so glad you were able to find something, besides meds, that helps. It's all about gut health.

I would rather help a condition without meds also. Glad you found some things that are working for you.
Keep up the good work.
