It was just too GREAT a bargain to pass up.
Stopped in Salvation Army 5/3 - semi-looking for dresses for a wedding (next weekend) and a yard party (Aug). It was white tag week and on Sat all items of the weekly color are on EXTRA special closeout for $0.69.
Tripped over a medium weight robe with a white tag. Got it home & noticed it had most likely NEVER been worn or washed. The mfg tag, size & care tage & pocket liner were pristine. The zipper was perfect.
SCORE!!!

Peace Did not find a dress BUT I do have 4 in my closet I could easily wear (w/shoes & bags on hand) – one dating back to when the cousin’s mom got married in 1979. Also, the summer event is not until the end of Aug.

A couple of years ago I discovered by accident that the Goodwill has great print t-shirts for under $1.50. I pop in there every couple of months to see if I can pick up one or two since my summer "uniform" these days tends to be jeans, a t-shirt, and tennies. A lot of the ones that I find have never been worn and seem to be leftovers that were donated after a charity event or a marathon, etc.

Both are quite a drive. One I do try to hit every 4-6 weeks, the other 1x/year when I go to a friend's. Both are in good neighborhoods so I really expected better. Beginning to believe it is not worth the time and gas.

Ya, I don't think I'd drive out of my way to go to one because the price of gas would eat up any savings you might get. Mine is less than a mile from our home so I just hit it on my way to or back from other errands. It has also become my go-to place to get tubular hangers on the cheap: $4.99 at Home Goods for (10-12); $1.59 at the Goodwill for (12).
