I was wondering the same thing as I've been responding to it.

It's locked by the OP, meaning bean29 locked it.

Ridiculous. You don't like what is said so you get to lock it. Wah, wah, wah. But if you quote someone, you can still respond.

I just noticed this, folks. Looks like the OP tried to lock the thread but there's some sort of glitch. I'm going to go ahead and lock it now.

Quote and respond. Pretty soon it'll be removed totally.

Quote and respond. Pretty soon it'll be removed totally. Not unless the OP requests it be removed, zib. If the OP requests it be removed, you're darned right it will be removed. mmhmm, Administrator

People have as much right to lock the threads they start as they do to start threads in the first place, regardless of what any one of us might think about it.

People have as much right to lock the threads they start as they do to start threads in the first place, regardless of what any one of us might think about it. Of course they do.. and I have the right to state my opinion that if you aren't ready to handle some opposing viewpoints, then maybe starting a discussion on a message board isn't right for you. Did I say you didn't? I don't recall saying that. You've got an opinion. You're entitled to an opinion. You've stated your opinion. Others, including the OP that locks a thread, doesn't have to agree with your opinion.

I think it's silly..someone starts a thread, decides they don't like the responses they are getting and then locks it? Boo hoo... I say if I started thread and it took a turn in nowhere I would lock it not because I don't like responses. Just because my OP was ignored and I want a response and all of you just playing there like if I had not asked a question... Wait...we need to lock all the threads then. Well, almost.

OP posted that 18 year old girl slapped 16 year old boy for "cheating on her". Slapper got a disorderly conduct ticket and someone told her she could have been charged with child abuse. OP stated her daughter probably wouldn't in trouble for slapping a boy. Other posters noted it's not ok to hit - regardless if it's boy hitting girl or girl hitting boy. Some discussion occurred on what the proper charges should have been against the slapper. Some discussion occurred on "cheating". Some aspersions were cast on the slapper's character. Thread was locked.

Makes me wonder if it was a " friends daughter?"
