Both are bad but RIPD gets bad B movie points. It's a poor man's Men in Black. As far as I'm concerned American Hustle has no redeeming features. The Academy should be embarrassed that they put this movie in as a contender. The only thing of any passing interest at all is to relive the fashion of the times. I thought it was cheesy when I was 10 and my opinion hasn't changed

We rented "Frozen" last weekend. It was a decent movie. A few laughs. Interesting enough plot to keep us awake until the end. I gave it a 6/10, which is my average rating for movies. R.I.P.D. wasn't too bad either. It had a somewhat interesting premise. The characters made no sense, but that's hardly a new trend in Hollywood. I gave it a 6/10 again. 6/10 for me means "Not sorry I rented it since I was somewhat entertained, but definitely won't rent it again." I haven't rented "American Hustle". The synopsis looked uninteresting. Mrs. Virgil watched it with her friends and didn't think much of it. Very few movies I've watched recently rate higher than a 7. "Gravity" rated a 2/10, which is "So bad that I fast-forwarded through most of the last half of the movie." Why people found it even the tiniest bit interesting is beyond my comprehension.

Yes, it was fun but I'm not sure understand all the over the top hype. It isn't the best animated movie I have ever seen. ETA - it does have an interesting moral about sisters loving each other and not being too judgemental because you don't always know all the facts. Now that you made me think about it I can see Women's Studies courses being done about the movie. Ya, the handsome prince is actually a jerk and the poor hard working chump ends up being the good guy and the young sister is the hero...there are a lot of societal trends to study with that one.

There's an "Honest Movie Trailer" about it on YouTube. One of the facts it points out is that all of the male characters in the movie are either witless, evil, or both.

Full disclosure: I bought it on Friday. I do have an 8 year old daughter, after all.

Well no one in the movie is perfect I think it balances things out a bit. The sisters are the main characters and the heroes of this one. There are lots of movies out there where the male characters are the strong, smart ones. It's good to have variety.

Gravity was good special effects, I'm not sure how it would hold up on the small screen?
