Loony, you really need to starting keeping your mouth shut and stop sticking your nose in where it doesn't belong. An abused animal is everyone's business. Her nose (and anybody who knows of this abuse) DOES belong in it. Minding one's business and keeping one's mouth shut in this type of situation makes that person as bad as the abuser. To me, the problem doesn't lie with taking an interest in the dog, at all. If someone told me an animal was being abused and where to find said animal, I'd be there in a heartbeat, or call those professionals who deal with that sort of thing. What I would not do is put the dog on Craig's list before I'd even seen it, based simply on what someone told me. By all means, care enough to do something, but care enough to do the right thing.

Do the same, Granny. We have already spoke out our differences, so keep out! Uhh. NO. you DO NOT get to tell people to get out of your threads, remember? you've been told a whole lotta times.
Also, once you determined the dog was, in fact, NOT being abused, then it ceased to be your business. it's the dog owner's responsibility to find it a new home, not yours.
I got it. All is my fault. Sorry. Except dog owner is not finding anything, its my call now to find him a good home. And I am very determined. I am going to find home for him. I promise. Some people just can't deliver. Some people just...inactive. It doesn't make them bad people but I will do it and I will report. Tootles? Friends? Loveya....

No. it is NOT your call to find the dog a new home. it's not.your.dog!!! you already said it's not being abused, so you need to step out.
even if the dog *were* being abused, like your customer initially said, your only responsibility would be to contact the animal control services in your area and they would do their job and investigate.

here we go again. So it is ok to anyone to talk to me like they are holier than me but I can not respond in the same manner? To me if ALL you have to tell me is to not to do something that I had done already - don't. It is pointless because it is done already and I am the way I am... I am wondering if BG received some message where you tell her to stop telling me what to do? And I didn't mean 'do not post in my thread'. I meant keep out of telling me what to do because you are not authorized. I am pretty sure I can not stop anyone posting in my threads. I am not that stupid. It was merely a suggestion to stay away from my business. Is it forbidden?

It is FREE stuff section. Well, you can't just give other people's dogs away either, even if you think they're being abused. That's where the humane society comes in because they go the legal route with an investigation and then can seize the animal. You doing it is just theft. There were a few stretches where an outsider would have thought my brother's cat was abused. He was skin and bones and looked awful. What they didn't know was that he was spending an absolute fortune trying to figure out what was wrong and treating him for everything under the sun. He's all better now, but he still spends over $300/month on meds for him (diabetes and something else). He would have been seriously crushed had that cat been just taken from him and anyone that would have took him would have been facing a lot more than buying a bag of cat food to get him better.

THANKS< GYL! yes, I had determined that dog is fine and still looking for good home for him. because I have a store and I have better chance on finding someone than owner does. And telling me not to do this is pointless because I will and I am... And I had already said I know how to deal with people on craiglist. I have gift of recognizing scam emails. And I would never tell anyone 'here is the dog for you'... So please, stop being such heartless about it. Like I said I am sorry I had posted it. I was making this post just to show you how some people who like animals can be totally wrong when it comes to the rescue. And how I should had met the dog first...like I said whatever. I had not been understood. But it doesn't mean I will not take next animal story close to my heart. And all this phone calls to the rescues are not really a good advice. I wrote it down but no one noticed. They gave me run around and nothing came out of it. I will be very happy to report that dog found a new home and I was part of this saga. So I am going to stick my nose where I want because it is MY nose and I am the owner.

For everyone having a problem with comprehension, it appears that LOONY has received permission from the owner to find the dog a new home. So, although she did originally stick her nose into someone else's business, she has received permission to make it her business and she is trying to do something noble by finding the well-cared-for dog a new home. Good luck to ya, LOONY!

oh ffs loony. You cannot give it away or find it a new home without the owner's permission! Do you have that?
Why on earth would anyone think this is ok, taking over finding a home for a NON ABUSED dog? ! It is not her dog and not her place to be finding a new home for it.
It doesn't matter if you think you can do better loony. Once again, it's not your business. You're seriously a menace at times.

I had an overwhelming response and I took ad down, because I didn't expect such result. I then wrote to people and eliminated those seemed like not serious people. A few that I though worth talking to I talked to and we had exchange of information. Nobody giving nobody any dog unless there is a reason for that. Why do most of you think all people except you are stupid?

I HAVE OWNER's PERMISSION!!! She begged me to help! How many times have I already said that I said it already I have more chances because I meet lots of people daily. I have a poster made 'FREE dog for good home'! It is not abused but it is still unwanted. And I said that 10 times already... And it IS my place to find him a new home if I wish to help and I was permitted by the owner!!!

Good luck finding a loving home for the dog, Loony. Good on you for looking out for those who can't look out for themselves. I sent 2 people to see the dog already and those people are my customers and I hope dog will soon be adapted. If not so soon - in near future. I am not rushing anymore because I know he is in good but bit overwhelming hands. I am sure between me and the owner we will make a good selection for the dog.

It happens a lot that people are no longer able to take of their pets for whatever reason. I'm so glad the owner has help. As much as you obviously care about animals, I have no doubt you'll find him/her a good home. I'm guessing the dog will end up with you if you can't!

My dog ate people food, this is why we had never had to worry about poisoning of my animal with Chinese dog food crap... We do not worry about heartworms in Pennsylvania. Fleas and ticks aren't too expensive of a treatment. Even best one $60 for the season? Big deal! Rabbies vaccination is done once in 3 years. or 5. Of course if you want to write a horror story - you can even write one about Easter Bunny.

Her business is to report the suspected abuse. Not to post ads on Craigslist to find someone to take a dog that she doesn't know is abused or even available for adoption. One of the points though, is she does NOT know the dog is abused. She heard about it randomly from one person, who it turns out was lying. Even so, if she wants to report it, good for her. Let the authorities investigate. Instead she posted ads on craigslist to find a new owner, then went and found out the dog wasn't being abused at all...oops
