I could go for more closet space and I don't share with anyone. I live somewhere with distinct seasons. I have work clothes and play clothes. The opposite season's stuff is generally packed up in totes because there's not room to have it all out at once. I'm a total clothes horse though.

DH has way more clothes than me but to be fair I am a SAHM and he is a teacher and has a ton of dress pants and a ass load of shirts and ties. Fine by me Dressing up for me during the day is putting on yoga pants instead of fleece jammies, lol! Unless I have to go out in public then a cute pair of jeans.

My DH has one 36 inch closet and I have three closets, including a walk in. I do make a good faith effort at getting him more clothes, because the ones he wears are full of holes. However when I drag him to the store to buy new shirts, he just folds them and puts them on the top shelf of his closet and keeps wearing the holey ones.

If you exclude my uniforms, I have less than 20. I am including t-shirts. If it is just button down shirts, about 7.

When I was young, and had the body of a model, I bought good clothes that were well tailored. Now, I just want to be comfortable, and as free of pain as is possible. So, I own over a dozen athletic supporters. If the boys are happy, I am happy. No more sitting on them or squashing them while working.

Grits if we lived together, I could aspire to half the closet! LOL! I'm going to bed now. Hopefully the 3rd shelf will go well tomorrow. By the way, it's about 60+ more tops (sweaters, fleeces, polos, sweatshirts) and not 43 as I had originally thought. I went through DH's 5th / bottom / last shelf (which holds the bedding and towels for our bedroom and bathroom) and found a pile of his clothes hidden behind the towels.

He has more clothes than me. He has almost the entire walk in.
But do your SO wear their dress shirts over and over again?
He puts on an undershirt and re-wears his shirts.
Is that gross?

DH does this too, and that jerk doesn't even have to wear deodorant while I have to get super strength and kill it half way through the day He could wear a shirt several times before having to wash it. I wish!!!

We have a HUGE walk-in closet (bigger than the bedroom I had as a kid) and DH has maybe 10% of it. His normal outfit is tshirt and carpenter shorts in summer, henley shirt or hoodie and jeans/khakis in winter. He has maybe 10 tshirts, 5 or 6 henleys, and 5 pairs of pants. He wears a uniform to work (and they launder them, woohoo!) He won't buy new clothes, just keeps wearing holey ones til I go shopping. He's very tall and oddly proportioned (long torso) so I usually end up buying shirts online. The Hanes 3pack tees are like midriff shirts on him. I'm glad he's low maintenance. I need my closet space

I hang my supporters on satin hangers. No wire hangers. They cause loss of elasticity.

I wish!!! Nope, his shirts can get ripe. I asked him how he knows when to take the shirts out of circulation, because I thought he must have some 3-wear rule or something, but nope, he does the old sniff test. I'm the one who doesn't wear deodorant. I don't smell naturally. And no, it's not just me who thinks so. I really don't.

My guy is funny now since he got his own house. He put two chest of drawers in his bedroom and has a full wall sized walk in closet. He gave me half the closet but I only have one robe, pair of slippers and a night gown in the closet and two dresser drawers in the guest room with a change of clothing and sweater and spare underwear.
He has many dozens of shirts still a lot at my house but is already talking of needed more dressers. He had a bird so he has lots of tee shirts with holes in them but keeps for yard work. He wears flannel shirts all winter and long underwear so has those shirts. He has no dress shirts because he outgrew his suits so I donated all his dress clothes. He is a longshoreman so doesn't need to dress up for work. He tells me he separated the clothes at my house to those he wants donated or kept but I don't know which pile is which so maybe donate all of them or make rags from some.
My house has two huge walk in closets and his has three walk in closets they must know people have lots of stuff.

I want to share closet space with the Fonz lol. DH just tossed 18 sweaters / polos from the next shelf. That's 54 items so far. One more shelf to go.

Thanks Resolution! I do my stuff / household stuff / kids' stuff regularly, but getting DH on board is another story. This only happens once in a blue moon. We just finished his shelves and hanging closet, for a grand total of 65 items out the door. I was hoping for 100 but I'll take it! ETA: I just put everything (5 medium-sized bags) into the local donation bin.

Congrats to him too, 70 lbs is a LOT!
Thanks, I'll let him know.
After his heart attack almost 2 years ago we went low sodium and that also meant portion control. I spent the time he was in hospital going through our pantry and getting rid of a LOT of stuff. I'm now a complete label reader and so is he. He is limited to 1500mg of sodium per day and usually it's closer to 1K. He can have all the fresh fruit and veggies he wants. He hasn't complained about the low sodium and is very happy with the whole new wardrobe. Including his undies. LOL
Now if I could just get him to get rid of some t-shirts.

He has a "one in - one out"Donethat, so do I (I actually have a one in-two out policy). I think DH is going to have to have a "one in-two out" policy too, because now that he's finally going through his closet, he's all exciting about going shopping for (you guessed it!) new shirts. Congrats to your DH on his weight loss! TSkeet, I just don't get that mentality ... how can you get dressed in the morning if your clothes are in all these different places?! (It helps that I hate shopping lol.) Well, my SIL with the bedroom converted to a closet rotated the wardrobe with the seasons. And still had clothes she had worn in high school. 30 years earlier. She didn't wear them. But she had them in one of the closets.
