It's what I call poly speak and it's with every elected official regardless of party, it's an obsession on something so that your not dealing with real issues. They get people riled up and frothing at the mouth on non issue crap, rather than deal with real issues. The bullshit on every side needs to stop.

Maybe, it would speed up the checkout lines at the super market. People would be more closely watching the line ahead of them instead of looking at the magazines.

Was I the only person who read the thread title and understood the legislator intended to USE Cosmo as porn?
... I mean, dude, whatever floats your boat, but keep it to yourself.

I don't know. Years ago I read my Moms Cosmo and it totally told you how to hire a hit man and how a smart hit man tries to make as many hits as possible look like accidents. Including lowering someone he got high or drunk with into the pool so it looked like an accidental drowning. I never forgot that. Shudder.

I wonder if this idiot has ever heard of the US Supreme Court's decision in the Larry Flint's Hustler, decision? I think that maybe he should read that before wasting the legislators time with his nonsense.

This actually reminds me of back in the 80's when Al Gore and his wife worked on that explicit lyrics crusade. They wanted to do the same thing to music that this senator wants to do with magazines. But you know what? Tipper and her motley crew started the whole ratings/warnings bullshit on music. So maybe instead of hiding them, these magazines should have ratings and warnings listed on them? The Dems don't seem to think that's a waste of time

Yes it is snuff porn. Old ladies who dip go rock on the porch, and get turned on by their Cosmo's.

Of course all of the gun magazines are ok......Nothing wrong with glossy high color displays of machines designed to kill people- but mention 10 freaky ways to satisfy your lover and we need to put a wrapper on it. Didn't say anything about the scantily clad women in tattoo monthly, or the cars and girls magazines- nope- just the ones that deal with women being in control of their lady parts- something the GOP men have a problem with on a daily basis.

Next target- Popular Science Back around 1974, National Lampoon Magazine 'lampooned' Penthouse magazine with an issue titled Pethouse. The issue was full of flirtatious female felines in seductive poses. One had to keep the Pethouse issue out of sight from randy tom cats.

You left the NRA out of this one, you're slipping. Anyway, this conservative has always admired ladies in control of their "parts". What we need is a magazine with scantily clad ladies holding up large guns with 40 round mags. Oh wait, most gun + ammo magazines have pictures like that.

but Cosmo IS porn. soft porn. If that's the case then Penthouse letters is porn, 50 shades of Grey is porn, and about a million other things.... Perhaps what our politician really should get behind is a good old fashioned book burning. Everyone has their drug of choice- as well as their porn of choice

It will just increase the circulation of the mags down there. I'm betting he is like so many of the religious leaders that condemn anything and everything, then you find out they are right in the middle of it.
Remember Tenn still doesn't want Darwin's theories taught in schools. Not true. I want evolution taught ìn schools. It ìs Tenn. that does not want it taught ìn schools.
