I hate when I forget to turn down my heat when I leave for work in the morning. I rent an apartment, so installing an automatic thermostat is not an option. Granted, I really only forget to do this a couple of time each winter, so not a huge deal. However, I hate noticing when I come home that the temperature is higher than I normally keep it and it's been kicking itself on all day. One day probably doesn't add a lot to my electric bill, but I hate knowing that I was paying to heat an empty home for almost 10 hours!
So what about the rest of you? What do you HATE to forget that impacts your smart spending ways?

I hate when I forget...to turn off the lawn sprinkler and it runs all day and night long.

If it's a large complex offer to buy and leave it if they will have their handyman install it. If it's a small unit make the same offer for the next time the handyman is around.

Because I'm not going to pay for something like that that will stay when I leave. Now, what do you hate to forget?

I hate it when I forget to put sweats on over my pouch briefs before I open the door to get the newspaper. All the old ladies in the complex start baking me cakes, pies, and cookies.

Just stick a small colored post-it note - or a small colored stick-on dot on the inside door at eye-level. It will serve as a reminder to turn down the thermostat when you leave the apartment.I hate it when I forget to put sweats on over my pouch briefs before I open the door to get the newspaper. Your complex is infested with cougars??

Your complex is infested with cougars?? Yes but it is because I am tall and thin. They are trying to fatten me up.

Fair enough. I hate it when I forget to write down something on a shopping list because it's OBVIOUS we need it. Then do the grocery shopping and forget it - bread, milk, eggs...

I hate it when I go into a room and . . . . What did I want in here?
I hate it when I forget the word for something. Last night, I offered DH a can of 7-11. Ok, I meant to say 7-up. Well, he understood me.
I especially hate it, when I leave the gas station without my change. A few weeks ago, I checked my oil and left. The next day, I realized I had left $1.20 in change behind.

I hate when I forget to use coupons.
And when I forget to use my CVS bucks before they expire.
And when I forget something in the fridge and then it's no longer usable.

My mother never left anything in the fridge until it was unusable. She might warm up portions that were just enough for two people, and have 5 of them. hahaha Ooo nobody at the table would have the same things. Peace77, your husband understood you, and he loves you for it. Also, he gets plenty of free entertainment.

I hate it when I forget the word for something. Last night, I offered DH a can of 7-11. Ok, I meant to say 7-up. Well, he understood me. My dad's motto when I was growing up was "Don't listen to what I say, listen to what I mean!" My brother and I both do the exact same thing. At Christmas a few years back, I scolded my dad for taking the last of the mushrooms. He didn't blink an eye - looked at the marshmellows in his hot chocolate and apologized. Everyone else in the room was a bit confused, though!

I hate when someone asks me MY phone number, and it takes me quite a ................ pause ........... to remember and answer (grin!) Well, to quote Phoebe from the first season of "Friends" when she asked Monica what her (Phoebe's) phone number was, "Well, it's not like I call myself!" This weekend, I found myself forgetting to turn lights off when I left a room. Then as soon as I sat down or became occupied with something else, I'd see the light on and have to go turn it off.

Count me in in the I hate when I forget my coupons crowd. I usually forget them in the truck, and yes, I will ask a store staff member to watch my cart while I go outside to retrieve them.
I hate when I forget to use/don't have an opportunity to use, a really good coupon, too.
I hate when I forget to buy something on sale, we end up needing it, and I am forced to buy it at full price.

I love it when this thread is right above the "What's for Dinner?" thread because then it reads "I hate it when I forget what's for dinner"

I hate it when I forget my keys. Good thing my parents live across the street and have a spare key. I lock my keys in my truck several times a year. Because of that, I have a hide-a-key on it strategically placed.
