I am missing 5 1099-INT forms. Got them all last year. Still live at the same address.
How long can I expect to wait? When have these banks broken the law and I can report them to the IRS?

Did you earn more than $10 in interest in each account? If not, they are not required to send one. If so, ask them as it could have gotten lost in the mail or they are delayed for some reason.

if you have access to the December banking statements they may report "year to date" interest earned. You do not have to have a 1099 to prepare your tax return and in many cases 1099s may not have been issued, but you are still required to report the income.

thanks
I was actually only missing 4. Went back to check statements and he 3 total UNDER $10 but will report. As it happens at least two were also MIA last year.

Do you have online access to your accounts? The information may be there.
