DH & I did our taxes last night through IRS site. We haven't submitted just yet. I want to go through it again tonight to ensure all figures are correct.
Our taxes are not complicated.
Married, filing jointly, using 1040 regular form and schedule A for itemized deductions (income tax, real estate tax, mortgage interest, and gifts to charity). Kept Goodwill donations at $500 so we wouldn't have to use Form 8283.
Taking the lead from using Turbo Tax/H & R Block in past and sticking with the forms they have used for us.
Anything to be concerned about?

Just out of curiosity, what spurred you to stop doing what you've been doing if you're not comfortable with the new choice?

Your situation sounds rather straight forward.
For items to review:
1. For 2013, sales tax is still deductible if it exceeds your state income tax.
2. If you received a state income tax refund for 2012, and itemized your deductions on your 2012 1040, all or part of that state refund might be taxable to you.
3. If you had a state tax balance due for 2012, don't forget to include the payment with your 2013 state taxes on your 2013 Schedule A.
