Hello Tax Experts!
IRA account in a brokerage, but not professionally managed by the brokerage. Some funds moved to an IRA Professional Managed Account (PMA), same brokerage. Brokerage submitted to IRS Form 5498 IRA Contribution Information. A transfer of funds from one account to another account number (same owner) is a contribution? How is this information treated on the IRA owner's tax return?

the 5498 is informational only. you need to be worried about a 1099-R. |
