One of these days I'll make it up there to watch in person. Those guys are nuts though. 50' waves breaking over rock formations.. it's almost a miracle so many of them are still alive.

When I read this I thought you were in Hawaii. My cousins were just telling me they're getting 50 foot waves on the North Shore.

It's really difficult to watch in person anymore. If you scroll down the article you can see where they are charging $15 to sit at the local hotel and watch it on Giant screens. We'll follow on the official website and have cocktails at home.
Did you see the movie "Chasing Mavericks"? A little hokey but probably a perfect little flick to watch with your girls.
Surf looks pretty flat from our house right now. DH recently bought a cheap little webcam. I'm working with him optimize the placement so we can get a better shot of the ocean and wave action.

When I read this I thought you were in Hawaii. My cousins were just telling me they're getting 50 foot waves on the North Shore. Yeah, I heard that on the news. I think they get the big waves more frequently. This is more of an annual event.

They saw Chasing Mavericks opening weekend with their aunt and her boyfriend in Santa Cruz. He's a surf nut.
