Purdue Police Chief John Cox said the man appeared to have targeted the victim, also a male, around noon in a basement classroom of the Electrical Engineering Building. Cox said he didn't attack anyone else. Cox and Purdue Provost Tim Sands told reporters during an afternoon news conference that they had not yet confirmed the identities of either the suspected gunman or the victim. Cox said the man arrested wasn't immediately cooperating with investigators.

At least, this looks to be a "normal" murder rather than a random shooting. Not that it matters to the victim.

Yep a planned murder versus a shoot whoever I can school shooting. Purdue University Police Chief John Cox said Cody Cousins, 23, of Warsaw, Ind., is being held in the Tippecanoe County Jail on a preliminary charge of murder. Cousins is accused of shooting 21-year-old Andrew Boldt of West Bend, Wis., in the basement of the electrical engineering building around noon. |
